scouser_efc
1. is editor important ? is it to just edit players and giving your team loads of money? ( cheating ) ? 2. when is it right to warn and fine players? i warn them if they get 2 yellows which obviously lead to a red or if they get a straight red i fine them 2 weeks wages, say the player who got warned for 2 yellows does it again in another match is it best to keep warnin them or what? 3. what other things do i need to know about football manager ? or what do i need to know? or what is there that i can use ? people go on about player ratings of 160 or something? whats this on about? i just see how good a player is from his attributes ? 4. how many patches updates is there gona be? because i dont wanna have to keep starting over and over again thanks
Freakiie
1. The editor is used to edit the entire game database. You can add extra leagues, cups and all kinds off stuff. You can of course also give teams insane money, make every player 200CA and that kinda stuff. Check the editors hideout for some off the stuff, lower leagues are pretty nice especially if you plan on playing only in one country. 2. I tend to warn for 2 yellows and if a player gets a 2nd yellow 3x or more I consider fining him, I fine 2 weeks for dismissal for bad tackles etc, fine 1 week for professional fouls (personally don't like this one, but players tend to complain about lack of discipline if I don't). Other bad off the pitch behaviour gets 2 weeks (like not showing up for training). 3. Players are rated by CA/PA (current and potential ability). Current is what the player has now, Potential is the maximum possible. While it's not possible to see these stats without the editor you get a rough idea off them through scout reports. Maximum is 200, so 160+ is seen as starting position for any top club pretty much. Monsters like Messi/Ronaldo go all the way to 190+. In the end it's not very important. A player can be lower but have the right stats (so a very specialised player) or you can play in lower leagues where say a 100CA player is as efficient as Messi in La Liga. 4. Games are patch compatible, so you can just keep one save going all along. In the next patch there will be a small database update for transfers, however it's not really that important. Final patch is 12.3 which will come out later this year.
scouser_efc
thanks say for instance a ref kicks the ball and scores which wont happen but if it did and that got fixed in a patch in my current save gave the ref kicked and scored a goal and i updated to the new patch the ref would still kick the ball even though i have the new patch? these type of bugs etc will be fixed in a saved game? scouser_efc
i want the game as realistic as it can be i dont wanna start editing my own stuff so it aint really imporant the editor no?
phnompenhandy
I think you need to keep it really simple son, so for you - the editor is not important.
scouser_efc
I think you need to keep it really simple son, so for you - the editor is not important. the editor isnt really important for anyone really though is it? unless you feel the need to edit players edit money edit leagues etc so its hardly important is it
mije1983
the editor isnt really important for anyone really though is it? unless you feel the need to edit players edit money edit leagues etc so its hardly important is it Some people like playing with up to date transfers, not those from the start of the season. Similarly people like to add new leagues to FM (there is a whole editors forum) that don't come with the game, like extra African leagues. Without the editor, that would be impossible. The editor is about far more than just 'giving my team messi, ronaldo and £1billion'.

mije1983
That was my point. The data update is likely to be realsed late Feb/March. Some people like the transfers as soon as possible. With the editor they can edit the transfers in as soon as the window is closed.
milnerpoint
1 - editor is pointless unless you want to edit the game, or you want to check up on the hidden stats and CA/PA's of players 2 - i warn for two bookings, fine for every red card, 1 week for last man challenges, 2 weeks for any kind of violent behaviour. 3 - There is so much to know about the game, id suggest you should have a read in the various forums on here, tactics/training forum especially. CA/PA has been explained above, there's no need to get caught up in all that, attributes are what counts at the end of the day 4 - Traditionally there are 3 main patches, things have changed this year because of steam, its impossible to say how many there will be as im sure SI dont know, but you do not have to start a new game each time, most fixes in the patches are game save compatible and the few that are not are usually league specific things you may never come across.
