wooze
There are some players who wont discuss contracts with your club. However after declaring your interest in that player they then mention that if an official offer was made then they would consider it. So when you try to offer them another contract it still says that they don't want to discuss a contract. Even when they said they would at least consider it if an offer was accepted. Is this a bug? Steve Odom
Or are they ambitious and trying to provoke other teams in making a bid?
wooze
Maybe, its just frustrating when you're desperately trying to sign the player. If they say that they would consider it then that's what they should do. Just seems like that media story by the player has absolutely no effect on the game and is just for show. Bradley21
Players and agents do this all the time to hock themselves around to bigger/better clubs, nothing wrong with it imo.
Porthos
Problem is when no-one else is interested, they don't do anything about the 1 club (you) that made a bid and is interested.
Bradley21
Then perhaps the player would rather stay with his current club rather than go to you? It's possible he tried to use your interest to force the hand of any clubs who may potentially be interested in him who he would have considered moving to. Porthos
Well, if 10 players don't want to go to Barcelona...
hluraven
Depending on who the player is, they may well be trying to get an improved contract at their current club. If you make an offer which their club rejects, their agents demands a new improved contract. If you never offer, they don't - so getting you to offer, even if they have no interest in you, is a good tactic for the player/agent.
phantom9in
Or, you made the bid, he considered and decided he didn't want to talk to you.
vilks
Scouts usually get it bang on if you ask them to get a report on a player, I can't recall many times where they've said that a player won't want to join and he has or vice versa.
