Idea for QA-Routine

Hello everybody,

first of all i want to excuse two things:

1. iam not really sure if my post is in the correct section

2. please excuse my not perfect english

i want to explain my idea for improving the QA-routine in the game!

the actuell routine is like this:

you are asked a question, you have several options to chose.

depending on your chose, some effects are on your next opponent, on your own player, on your public relations are taken.

simple example:

Q: did you think player Pele will be nervous in the next game?

1. A: no, training was good, i have trust in his abbilities!

2. A: i think player is old enough to fight for a comeback!

effect: player moral + 1

so far so good!

after a while this routine becomes boring, same questions, same answers, same effects, same newspaper fillings!

so, what about to implementing the abillity that you can write the answer and can chose the effects?

simple example:

Q: did you think player a will be nervous in the next game?

step 1. you can write, not chose the answer A: "no, i spoke to this player after training and told him that i have trust in his skills"

step 2. you can choose the effect: "moral +1" or "(for a while, next match) dribbling + 1" or "(for a while, next match) teamwork + 1"

in the newspaper is written your own answer, so the inversion raises a lot!

of course, you have now the possibility to "cheat" players or oppenents skills, but this is at the moment the same!

i think everybody knows what answer give what effect, so it doesn't change the whole QA-routine but gives a little bit more inversion!

what do you think about it?

It's an interesting idea although I can see some problems with it. I'm not sure many players would be interested in spending much time writing their own answers to questions in the press conference. Most players are eager to get through the press conferences as quickly as possible. But the idea of having variable effects depending on the answer is worth further investigation. Although here as well, I think the actual effects should be hidden from the player at the time he selects his answer. As you point out, knowing the effect helps the player too much. But the real salvation for press conferences lies in a great expansion in breadth (many more questions) and a reduction in depth (all of the questions remain independent). This would reduce the complicated programming effort required to develop and manage the questions triggered by other questions. This could be achieved by an effort similar to my ill-fated proposal for random events.

p.s. your English is pretty good except for one thing: I think you mean immersion, not inversion.;)

The coding behind this would be incredible as you would need a program that could take what you wrote and convert it into information that the game could understand. Then you would need this possible for every language. What about if you use "slang" how would the system work? Nice idea though :)

of course, for those people who are to lazy to write every answer on there own, can be further to possibility to chose one answer out of five!

but for those who want to go deeper in the game and take time for answering, will give my idea more immersion ;) and a welcome diversion!

i think the biggest plus are your own written answerns in the newspaper and the possibility to chose one effect!

i think you did not understand what i was talking about!

when you write your answer, the programm did not need to interpret it!

at least, it is not relevant what you're writing in your answer!

by giving the question, the possible effects you can chose are set!

for example:

Q: what dou you think about next opponents best player?

so, there can only be those effects you can chose after you write your answer!

opponents player interested in you club + 1, opponents player hate your club + 1, opponents player is cowed + 1

of course you can write: this player i want to merry and then chose "opponents player hate your club + 1"

if it make sense for your play is up to you, because you can chose the effect!

to make it short:

you will not chose a answer, you will chose an effect and write the answer if you want!

perhaps there can be a random in the the effects you can chose!

or depending on your traniers charisma how much the effect is taking "effect"

low charisma, small effect, a lot charisma you can influence the whole defence of opponents team for example!

there are so many ways to make it interesting and to "play" with it!

for me its boring to chose answers, because i do still know the effects, writing the answer and chosing the effects will give more opportunities!

and of course it will decrease the work for sigames! now they have to put for every new question also five new answers!

with my idea they only need to implementing new questions, and have more time to specialise on the effects!
