I try and negotiate but player x walks away because he doesn't accept 4k. Then the note appears saying "Crapston FC have cancelled the deal" No we haven't. Player x is a greedy sod and walked away! How am I supposed to know that he wants 5k a week, when he is currently on 1k a week, and I can only afford 4k a week? I am not psychic. I didn't cancel the deal. He did.
