FM12 Parkera Cadiz Journeyman Career

After reading a few career threads on here and various stories, I have decided to start a new career exclusively for my FIRST ever FM career thread!

I have no goal in mind except to start at the lowest league possible in any chosen nation and work my way up in the footballing world. I have started as automatic experiance and loaded the following leagues ____DENMARK/ENGLAND/FRANCE/GERMANY/GREECE/HOLLAND/IRELAND/ISRAEL/ITALY/PORTUGAL/RUSSIA/SCOTLAND/SPAIN/TURKEY/WALES. All these nations are playable to the lowest league. I am using patch 12.1.1 with a Medium DB, starting July 2011. I may as the seasons progress and hopefully my career add more leagues and take away some nations and leagues. If I am sacked I move on if a job offer crosses my path I will consider it. To start with I have applied for all available jobs.

I delay my decision on both offers for a week to think things over. SKA KHABAROVSK are a 1st Division Russian club already about half way through their season. KIRKLARELISPOR are a Turkish 2nd Division group B club who's season starts in September.

Yeah, I was surprised. I even delayed my decisions for the weeks just to see if anyone else would come in. But the only ones that did were these two again. Although it will be a new change for me as I usually end up starting in the Uk, and Turkey is sure to be a challenge.

Well have just had a look at the club and I think its safe to say, I will have my work cut out for me. Facilities are at best basic, currently have two staff on the books an Ass Mgr and GK coach. I will keep these on board till I can find better replacements, so head off to the employment office and advertise for Scouts,Physios,GK Coach,coach and fitness coach.

After assessing the squad there is some deadwood thats going to need offloading, however there is also a handful of players that look the goods for this level, namely this player Ishak Tpocu.

I also hit the phones and organize some friendlies for the preseason, and get the lads onto Preseason training routines.

Getting staff in is becoming a right pain, they usually ask for way over what the club is willing to offer as max and the scouts esp want part time deals! Have made my first signing and got some guys in on trial. I will update once the friendlies have finished and just before the season starts!

Well the Pre-season has finished, I managed to sign 3 new scouts, but still no coachs yet. The board came back to me regarding my 'parent club' request with a big fat no clubs could be found etc, very frustrating! However my Assistnat manager and his loan reports and suggestions of players has been promising.

I signed 9 players in before the window shut, most on frees and one on loan, not a bad bit of business if I do say so myself! The players are

Serhat Goksen/Ibrahim Metli/Musa Kus/Ozgur Kaymaz (loan)/Baris Kol (5k)/Suat Ustal/Murat Ozkan/Hassan Ugur and Jovan Kostovshi.

PRESEASON FRIENDLY RESULTS 2011/2012

Very pleasing results I must admit. The lads are still getting into the tactic that I use which is a 4-1-2-2-1 formation, as we are a lowly ranked side I made it to be counter attacking, and these results are encouraging. Most pleasing were against Besiktas and their reserve side also.

BOARD EXPECTATIONS

Must admit the expectations are pretty much non existent. For the league and also Turkish cup they want me to enjoy and learn from the experiance. Sure no worries.

Well folks the season proper is just about to start and I will give you monthy updates, and any major developments if that sounds good. Any other ideas etc please let me know!

If you guys can offer any suggestions to enhance this as I go along would be good. So far enjoying Turkey. Although bloody buggered up with my signing of Jovan. He is classified as foreign and the turkish lge at this level doesn't allow foreigners to be registered. Hopefully I can use him in the Cup.

Well The first month has finished and in the last few days alot of progress has been made on the coaching front, bringing in two coaches and one fitness coach. Thats all I am currently allowed and its better than what I started with.

Kirklarelispor v Altinordu (a) 11/09/2011

We find ourselves leading 1-0 at the half, but to be undone from a corner in the 48th minute. 1-1 and into injury time we get kicked in the teeth by a 91st min winner as one of my defenders fails to pick his man up. Final score 1-2

Kirklarelispor v Unyespor (h) 14/9/2011

Once again at the half we find ourselves 1-0 up after Kol bounces on a defensive error to score his first of the season. Our DM Ugur is injured in the 56th min forcing a subsitution. Then once agin our defense fails to mark their man properly as we conceed in the 81st min. with all our subs made Topcu is forced off in the 88th min and we are forced to carry on with 10 men. Unyespor pile on the pressure looking for the winner but we manage to hang on. Final Score 1-1

INJURY UPDATE: Tpocu's injury turns out to be nothing more than a knock, however out DM Ugur is not in a good way. The medical team tell me he will be out for 4-5wks after suffering with a twisted knee.

Kirklarelispor v Alanyaspor (2)(a) 18/9/2011

We go into this away game against current 2nd placed Alanyaspor. In the 84th min we are awarded a penalty which is duely converted by Isyapan to make it 1-0 and thats how it stays, giving us our first victory. This was a game we dominated with 63% possesion and 9 shots. Final Score 1-0

Kirklarelispor v Adiyamaspor (1) (h) 25/9/2011

Another game against another team fighing in the top of the league at this early stage. And we fought hard and Bris Kol is lost to injury. We finished this match with 57% possession and 13 shots at goal with only 5 on target. This should start turning around once the new coaches get into their groove, and I am happy with this point. Final Score 0-0

INJURY UPDATE: A bad injury to Bris Kol with Knee ligament damage meaning he will be out for 2-3 months.

As things stand after the first month of league football I am happy with how we have started, only the one loss in the season opener and as the players are getting familular with the tactic we are starting to see some encouraging progress. Now with coaches on board we should start to see real progress. Injuries are a concern though to two of our main players.

OCTOBER 2011/12

October is done and dusted, and I managed to get some more staff on board, and also the Turkish Cup was drawn.

Kirklarelispor v Mardinspor (1) (a) 2/10/2011

A great through ball to Topcu puts him into a 1v1 chance against the keeper and he slots it home to give us a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute. This is soon followed by yet another injury to one of our players, this time to AMR Musa Kus. In the 77th minute the game changes as my LB Ilkem Ozkaynak is shown a straight red for a tackle on the opposition who made a break from a corner. I change the formation to 3-2-2-1-1 and go defensive as Mardinspor pile on the pressure looking for the equalizer. The whistle blows and we win this one a man down. FINAL SCORE 1-0

INJURY REPORT: Kus is out for only 4 weeks after suffering a groin strain, I reject the advice of giving him an injection.

After looking at the video of Ilkems dismissal I see no clear cut evidence of a bad tackle, but decide not to appeal. I also issue him with a warning which he accepts.

-After this last Injury I approach the board for some more medical staff as the one I have is only a part timer. They initially refuse the request but I decide to strongly rebut this and they soon decide otherwise and allow me to hire 2 additional physios.

-Ilkem Ozkaynak's ban is extended to a further two matches meaning he is now set to miss 3 games. He is my best fullback and will be missed.

Kirklarelispor v Kizilcahamamspor (5)(h) 9/10/2011

We conceed a goal in the 19th minute as Uta makes a blunder sending the ball into his own net, within seconds Topcu equalizes for us, but is quickly ruled to have been offside. The game turns to our favour in the 64th min as one of Kizilcahahspor's players are sent off for a second yellow. We fail to capitilize on out numbers and I let the boys know this at full time. FINAL SCORE 0-1

The draw for the Turkish Cup 1st round is made

We open the scoring in the first half from a 25yard screamer by Berken Ergene. In the 66th minute we get yet again another injury, this time to the backup AMR Serdal Alan. In the 79th min Topcu gets onto the end of a flat cross to slide it home for us where it stays. FINAL SCORE 2-0

INJURY UPDATE: Serdal Alan is confirmed to be out for at least 7weeks to 2 mths resulting from a broken arm.

Kirklarelisopr v Bandirmaspor (5)(a) 23/10/2011

Murat Tiraki gets onto the end of a free kick in the 51st minute giving us a 1-0 lead. Alot of missed chances in this game could have cost us and we need to really work on our attacking, especially our finishing. This result propelled us into the play offs. FINAL SCORE 1-0

Kirklarelispor v Cankirispor (16)(h) 30/10/2011

10 mins into the game we conceed a Free Kick and a goal to follow. We get chance after chance in this match and my fears are soon realised as in the 85th minute we conceed a penalty. We pull one back in the 90th min with a penalty of our own, but its to little to late. This was a game I expected us to win and let the lads know about it after. We still stay in the Play off zone though. FINAL SCORE 1-2.

The end of October sees us in the Play Off zone on 5th place with 14 points and a small GD off +2. Injuries in matches to most of our 1st teamers has cost us some consistancy in the team, but with two now coming back and 3 physios now on board hopefullt we can turn a corner. Still I am pleased with our progress and expect us to advance into the next round of the Cup in a day or two.

Thought I would give a quick update on some mangerial moves I was informed of over this time.

November is done and dusted, Its pleasing to say that the injuries have settled somewhat infact most of the lads are now back in training. A mixed bag this month, but still pleasing results overall if I am taking into account our media prediction of a 14th spot.

This is what happens when you release 5 players.

Long term I hope this does help along with the players I released, even though we were under the budget for wages I still thought every penny will help and they were not going to ever be in my plans and had all been listed with no interest, and I wasn't going to wait till Jan.

Our first match of the month saw us host non league side Orhangazispor is the Turkish Cup 1st round.

I made a few changes to the side most notably starting my striker J.Kostovski who due to my ignorance is unable to play in the league due to its foreign rules. We only have to wait 11 mins until Topcu puts us ahead. We concead 5 mins later however, only for Kostovski to return our lead from a free kick 2 mins later. Topcu nets his second of the match in the 86th min with another sliding effort from a cross. Final Score 3-1

Now it starts to get interesting as we are drawn against 1st Division side Gungorenspor in the next round.

Kirklarelispor v Eyupspor (12) 6/11/2011

Half time sees us trailing 0-2 and in shocking form. I decide to subsitute Kus as he took a slight knock and as he was still regaining match fitness from an earlier injury i didn't want to risk it. The rest of the lads got the hairdryer treatment.

2 mins into the half we hit back with a fine effort from Icuz, which is soon followed by Usta getting his head onto the end of a free kick making it 2-2 in the 53rd min. We played like animals in this second half and Eyupspor closed the shop up nice and tight. I was happy with the second half effort. Final Score 2-2

B.Sekerspor (11) v Kirklarelispor 13/11/2011

It takes 3 mins for Topcu to open the scoring, only for a complete and utter mess by Usta putting the ball into his own net with no pressure around him levels the scores in the 5th min. A nice through ball puts Topcu into the clear with the keeper to beat as he neatly slots home his second for the game in the 53rd min. Just to top it off Kazmar scores his first ever goal for us in the 91st.

Final Score 1-3

This win is followed later that day by a nice piece of news.

Kirklarelispor v 1461 Trabzon (17) 20/11/2011

A defensive blunder sees us go 1-0 down in the 14th min. A free kick sees us level the scores, which is followed in injury time as Topcu combines with Kus to slot home 2-1. Another defensive blunder sees the visitors level things up in the 57th min. I make a note to work on our defensive positioning in training this week, in a game we should have won. Final Score 2-2

Adana D.S (14) v Kirklarelispor 27/11/2011

On the 20min mark our DM Ugur sees a straight red for a nasty tackle. 7mins later we take the lead as Kus slots home but is soon followed by an equalizer in the 29th min. The ref is very card happy this half having issued 4 yellows (2ea) and a red as we head into the half time break. An extremely stupid mistake by my LB Ozkaynak sees the home side take the lead which is soon followed by our RB not tracking his man, suddenly we find ourselves 1-3 down with 15mins to play. In the 84th minute Topcu slots home for us and we turn the screws looking for the equalizer. GOOAAAAAAAAAALLL a 91st minute strike see us level 3-3, but then....NOOOOO OFFSIDE! utter rubbish ref. Final Score 2-3

those dropped points drag us down the table but we still seem to be hanging on in the play-off zone heading into December. I make a note to have some serious words to the board about extra coaches, out missed chances are costly.

Nice progress, we turned a profit this month, no doubt due to the board injecting that cash. I see they are moaning about the GK i brought in a backup FFS he hasn't had a game yet and we are paying nothing for him.

Some managerial movements this month sees Blackburn sack Kean and replace him with Alan Shearer. Rafa is back in Spain at Sevilla. PSV sack their manager. And Notts County hire Paul Ince as their manager.

Its early December and PSV have made their replacement and Newcastle decide to once more part ways with a manager! Stoke bid fairwell to Tony as Newcastle say hello!

Only 2 league matches this month and the Turkish Cup to round it off. I also managed to hire another coach who specialises in attacking, so hopefully will start to turn these draws into more wins.

Another missed oppotunity against 10th placed Fethiyespor. Egrene has now scored in the last two matches.

So a few more days to get ready for what will be a tough tie against a Division 1 side. There were 5 games called off for this leg of the cup interestingly all due to waterlogged pitches.

The difference in quality was evident in this match, but we still gave a crediable display. We also had one ruled offside and Topcu missed a sitter, which could have changed the game. So we are out of the cup and recieve a nice 12.5k for our effort from the FA.

Ronaldo caps off a fine 2011 winning the Golden Ball and Player of the Year awards.

Well Half way into the season its Janurary 2012 and the transfer window has opened.

TURKISH SECOND DIVISION GROUP B TABLE JAN 2012

Only 3 losses which is a great effort, however its the 6 draws that are a concern as alot of them have been against teams lower in the league than us and its something that we need to work on both in defence and attacking. If i can get two more coaches with Attacking knowledge in that should help as thats the weak point in the training, as we have had alot of chances in games but little coming out of them.

Still in contention for the Play-Off's though. Decent work .
