ronaldo175
I want to sign Romario (17y.o Brazilian) for Man Utd, I know I'll have to loan him out to Antwerp for 3 seasons before he can get a work permit. I'm worried that come the 2nd or 3rd season he will refuse to go on loan to Antwerp and then won't sign a new contract with me. Do you have any advice? Thanks
Nottingham Forest
You won't be able to sign him until he's 18. The best thing to do would be to try and sign him on a pre-agreed loan, so that he'll join at 18. Try and get a future fee in that and then sign him on a 5 year contract. ronaldo175
So I could loan him from Brazil until the end of the season and when he arrives loan him straight out to Antwerp. Then come the next season try and buy him and the work permit will be more likely to go through?
Nottingham Forest
No, what I mean is. You could sign him on a pre agreed loan iirc and when he's 18 he'll join you. Try and get a future fee in the loan, so as soon as he joins you at 18, you could activate that and try and sign him on a 5 year deal. You could then look to loan him out for however many seasons and then you wouldn't have to worry about losing him on a free if he signed a 5 year deal. Because he would still have two years left. Alternatively, you may get lucky and be able to appeal and if he's a good prospect he may get a work permit straight away.
