Saving The Club I Love

Having been a season ticket holder for 10 years ending the year before relegation to the conference and enjoying two trips to Wembley I am sad to see Darlington F.C on the verge of folding. Although I consider myself a big Leeds fan they will always have a place in my heart. This lead me to this where i an going to see how long I can keep the club afloat and how far I can get them.

Darlington: A Background

Founded in 1883, Darlington are a professional English club currently playing in the Blue Square Bet Premier. The club play their home games at Darlington Arena and possess fairly basic training facilities and basic youth facilities. The Darlington reserve team play at Norton (Teeside) Sports Complex. The club also has average junior coaching and a fairly basic youth recruitment network. The club is affectionately known as The Quakers and retains a fierce rivalry with Hartlepool United.

As a club which enjoyed its best spell in the 1990s and their last competition win coming as recently as 2011, The Quakers are a club with a growing history. Darlington won the English 4th tier for the only time in 1991 and finished runners-up once, won the English 5th tier for the only time in 1990, won the FA Trophy in 2011, and won the Third Division North in 1925 and finished runners-up once.

Season 2011/2012

League expectation

Blue Square Bet Premiership : Board expectation - Playoffs : Media expectation - 2nd

Cup expectations

FA Cup : 2nd Round

FA Trophy : Semi-Final

Transfer budget : £0k

Wage budget : £14,250 p/w

Current wage bill : £13,344 p/w

With an already strong squad the targets seem achievable. I will however try to bring in some experience to go alongside Liam Hatch upfront.

The first paragraph explains why?

I thought it did well but basically Darlington are my hometown team so they are the reason I got into football. Leeds is too much for me to see regularly so these were my alternative. Speaking of which i shall be going to see their "last" game tomorrow against Barrow!

Sad to see Darlo go, will never forget the 5-0 there on the final day of the 06/07 season, even if it did end in disappointment anyway

The only time I've ever walked out of a ground feeling dejected after thrashing someone 5-0!

The League

On target for the media prediction and blowing my thoughts out of sight! I thought I would struggle going into this season but my team are doing superb, injuries have been setting up back with key players being sidelined for the games against the top three but I think we can have a end of season push and secure our playoff appearance.

Sorry about this taking so long, have a heap of coursework to finish and quite frankly it was depressing me as slowly my season fell apart as it came to an end

Erm, so I was gutted with the previous season and now I have had a smaller wage budget than the previous staff had, lost all but 3 staff members and most of my crucial players. Luckily my youth players have stepped up and i have won and drew my first two league games, I also have Doncaster as my parent club so I will be loaning players. Wish I didn't complain last season now haha

In all honesty i have took a backseat in the league as I have been securing finances from cups, happy with it still, steady progress with virtually staff or senior players, at home against Man City in the Fa cup 3rd round...show me the money

With regards to financial concerns, many people do not have a ton of extra cash sitting around to pay for it. I guess even the team may encounter a lot of troubles having their budget cut for the summer so if ever you'll need assistance you can always go for a payday loan. I know this is a bit odd for me to share this here but I just want to help. Payday cash advances have become a significant service available to hard-working Americans who are not getting paid as much as they should. A New Jersey pastor has asked for an anti-payday loan campaign to start because he does not like payday lending. He does not realize that payday lending is for the average American who cannot constantly afford to pay the emergency bill without some help. You can get more info at: Payday Loan

Mainly wanted to do this to show you how I did in the FA Cup and to respond to iHeadHunta x. I'll start with the FA Cup so it starts positive!

From here I will include what iHeadHunta x said, I appreciate his thoughts but wouldn't mind him having a word with my board who are unhappy with my management of the team. This was after the first Manchester City match so In all honesty I wouldn't be surprised if my next update is me with another club as i've been sacked. 20
