All their agents come up with 'my client isn't interestedin entering negotiations with your club'. Been at Leicester a couple of weeks now. In 16th place, sure not good but not relegation threatened. Staff are happy to sign but no player form any one of my reserve, senior or youth squads will sign. At first i thought it's because I am over the wage budget but even after I have adjusted it, it makes no difference. Searched around for this but found nothing exactly the same?? These are screenshots of a few players contract screens. AytchMan Posted December 24, 2011 Share Posted December 24, 2011 If your reputation is very low, players may be very reluctant to renew their contracts although it seems like somebody ought to be interested. Players generally don't care about your wage budget so that shouldn't make much difference. Are there other reasons why playing for Leicester might be undesirable? Were they just relegated? Maybe everyone wants to jump ship. Also, remember that if you break off negotiations with a player, he won't be interested in renewing contract talks for a while. roykela Posted December 24, 2011 Share Posted December 24, 2011 Have the same problem, with my swedish AIK. Took over in 2022 when they were in the 2nd tier. Bounced them right back up, and i'm consistently in the Europa League. Something i have done for the club. Been close to winning the league as well. Past Experience - Sunday League Footballer. Reputation - National. I'm now in 2029 and i still have that problem. Even with players who came through the ranks at AIK, with the club as favourite. It's not all players but quite a few. Normally the best ones. Which i understand, as it's not the greatest club in the world, to say the least. There are also those players which are open for signing a new contract but the player/agent doesn't have any demands. I can offer 10 times the current contract but the agent will still say that we're miles apart from agreeing something. Pretty annoying really. They even do it when no club's interested.
