sir-alex-ferguson_1299377c.jpg

Shockwaves coming out of Old Trafford that Legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson has decided to step down as manager of the club with immediate affect.

After over 20 years at the club and many trophies. The man who made Manchester United the club it is today will be taking a more back seat role at the club.

The Clubs owners have released the following statement.

David Gill:

"Its a sad day today for everyone associated with Manchester United Football Club and its fans as we regret to announce the immediate retirement of

Sir Alex Ferguson who has given so much to the club. He will now concentrate on a more back room role at the club and will foresee our decision who

we should bring in to replace such a legendary figure not only at Manchester United but in World Football.

Myself and The Glazers would like to take this opportunity to assure Manchester United supporters that we will make the right choice with our next appointment and will freeze all transfer dealings until we have a manager. Also, we would like to assure you that the morale among the players is very high."

Sir Alex leaves the club after losing out to the title by one point behind Chelsea. He has also tasted lots of success domestically and of course in Europe leading the

club to the champions League title twice. He will forever be remembered as a true great at the club.

Bookies are suggesting Frank Rijkaard, Marco Van Basten and Jose Mourinho as possible replacements.

david-gill-benitez_1238516c.jpg

With the dust settling at Old Trafford Manchester United have appointed there new manager. Former Welsh International Jack Ripper a suprise choice has been given the almighty task of taking the club forward and stepping into the most impossible job in football by replacing Sir Alex.

Fans have given mixed emotions to the appointment to the former Welsh International who won 35 caps for Wales scoring 2 goals. Outside Old Trafford many fans gathered as the news broke.

"This guy has no managerial experience yet he has been appointed before the likes of mourinho. Its a farce" Said one

Others stated they were happy with the appointment

"Im glad united went with the youthful appointment of Jack Ripper. Even though he lacks experience he has played at the top level. Cant wait for the season to start now love United"

Transfer Rumours

Neymar-0061.jpg

With the arrival of Ashley Young, David De Gea and Phil jones already at the club we look at other signings that new Manchester United manager Jack Ripper will possibly look to add at the club. United have around £14million left in the kitty with players told they can move on. Reports stating that Berbatov, Gibson and Ji Sung Park have been told they are allowed to leave.

reports are stating that Ripper will be looking to sign some youthful players to compliment the squad and not the star players the fans are crying out for. The midfeild area seems to be key for Manchester United with disgruntled fans not happy with the likes of Carrick, Fletcher and Anderson.

We take a look at possible signings for the Red Devils:

Reports coming from Brazil that United are looking at 2 of Santos young stars in Neymar and Ganso. However with United already spending lots of money this summer it remains to be seen wether they would be willing to pay big bucks for the talented two. Fees of around £25mill each are reportdly the going rate at the moment. Neymar would be seen as the solution to replace Ryan Giggs but Ripper also taken into account that Ashely Young has already signed.

Luka Modric the Spurs playmaker is another player heavily linked with United and prices ranging around the same as sneijder but wages wouldnt be a problem, Has EPL experience and has come on leaps and bounds at Spurs. Major Stumbling block would be Spurs reluctant to sell to a rival club but could be forced if they miss out on champs League football next season. Chelsea and Man City also monitoring.

With that being said with the £50million already spent by the club by Fergie bringing in David, Phil and Ashley it remains to be seen wether or not Jack ripper will part with more cash from the club who are still trying to reduce the debt at the club.

Aston Villa announce signing of Darren Fletcher for £15million on a 4 year contract.

New Man united manager wasted no time in showing how he plans to build a new team when he agreed to sell Darren Fletcher to Aston Villa for £15million. Many other clubs were also interested including Anzhi, spurs and Atletico Madrid all meeting the fee of £15million.

With many clubs to choose from it seemed quite a shock to have rejected the advances of Spurs and Atletico Madrid. It seems first team football was the major cause for Fletchers decision as he was told by manager Jack Ripper that he was surplus to requirements.

Other players to move out of the club are Ji Sung Park, Kzusack and Micheal Carrick.

Ripper makes first signing

mario20goetze.jpg

Manchester united Football club have confirmed they have completed the signing of 18 year old Mario Goetze from Dortmund. A fee of around £15.5million as earlier reported was the one agreed by both clubs.

Both clubs agreed though that the youngster would stay in Germany for the season ahead as it would be great for him to get more game time in Dortmund than he would at Manchester United.

A 5 year contract has been handed to the German youngster beleived to be around £29000 p/w. A statement has been released by Jack Ripper.

" I am delighted to announce that Manchester United have agreed the transfer of Mario Goetze from Dortmund. We will be looking to help Mario fulfil his potential and ambition at the club and hope for many years at Old Trafford together. He was a player that we felt fitted our criteria we are looking at. he is only 18 and can play anywhere in midfield which is an added bonus. Im looking forward to seeing how he develops over the next coming season before joining up with us next summer."

Some people think he will become the possible replacement for Ryan Giggs.

Community Shield 2009/10

Man City 2-0 Man utd

The noisy neighbours give the first blow in this seasons curtain raiser with a 2-0 win over a poor Manchester United.

In what was described as a poor showing by Manchester United manager Jack Ripper. The scoreline doesnt lie. Manchester City took to the field with the likes of Aguero being shown to there fans for the first time. Also making there debuts were De Gea and Phil Jones for the red side of Manchester.

Despite it being a friendly so to speak it was a game Jack Ripper didnt want to lose, Especially who the opposition were. The game started at a slow pace and only came into life when city midfielder Fernandinhio scored his first goal for the club and set himself as an instant hero on 15 mins with a well taken goal inside the 12 yard area. United couldnt recover and were getting stupid bookings as they became more frustrated as the game wore on.

Former Arsenal player Samir Nasri then doubled Citys lead on the half hour mark and despite Zabaleta being shown the red card the noisy neighbours managed to hold on to a 2-0 win and win the community Shield. Have Manchester United made the wrong appointment as today the young Welsh manager got it wrong and the fans wont be happy especially when it was mega rich Man City who took home the seasons first trophy.

League Cup Round up

League Cup

League Cup shock in the 4th round as Bristol city knock out Manchester United.

It was a day to forget for Man United fans as they crashed out to Championship side Bristol City in the 4th round of the League Cup. Ripper decided to put faith in youth but that gamble backfired as United went crashing out. After beating spurs with virtually the same under strength squad in the 3rd round United should have won this tie also. However Bristol City hadnt read the script.

A dour first 90 minutes saw the game finish goalless it soon sprung into life in Extra time when Substitute Hernandez opened the scoring for Man Utd on the 100th minute. However Maynard popped up 9 minutes later to take the game into penatly shootout. When Lucas missed Uniteds 5th penalty it was all down to Neil Mickenny to step up and if he scored it would be Bristol going through. He looked confident as he smashed the ball home to send the home fans wild.
