bosmans & contracts

Currently got a game going, im Darby. Haven't had a FM since 2009, so just getting in to it. So far really enjoying the game, but struggling with contracts and bosman free transfers.

first problem is the contract talks, seem to agree with the agent and everything, but don't seem to hear anything back ? am i doing something wrong, i do finalise the deal and get the normal msg back but then don't hear anything.

Second problem is bosman deals, i just can't do them. Once a player is in the last 12 months or less how do u offer a contract ? i go to contract offer but just says i need to make an offer to the club first. so don't seem to be able to do any bosman deals

any help would be good

Players who have their contracts expiring can't be approached until 6 months until they expire if they play abroad and 1 month before if you're managing in the same nation as the player you're approaching.
