Mac Mini display issue

Hi, can anybody help me im running football manager 2012 on my mac mini 2011 model with Lion as the OS my screen resolution is set to 720p 1280 x 720 via hdmi on a Samsung TV. When I boot football manager, full screen mode, it is displayed 1920 x 1080 at 60hz which is to little as the text is barely legible, the settings give me no option to change other then window mode. When I do actually change to window mode the display is then to big for the screen.
