How long do you manage a club?

What was your longest and the shortest time at the club?

There is never a set time. My last few jobs:

3 years.

4 years.

3 years.

9 months.

17 years.

i spent 38 seasons at Aberdeen in FM11, 9 so far this version, im hoping to beat last years total.

All depends on how i feel at the particular club im managing.

ATM on FM12, i spent a couple of months at Darlington, then near 18 months at Bury (got them promotoed and left half way through the season at the top) and then i holidayed for a 2/3 years and am at Ajax just over a year, am loving it so far so will more than likely stay for a few years and then move on.

Since the introduction of the lower level leagues I usually attempt to take Blue Square South side Basingstoke to the Champions League so it can be a very long time.

Usually, I start to look around the job market after 3 seasons but this year I'm doing the long haul. Into my 7th season already.

I tend to start my long term save the day the game comes out and mostly play that until the next one comes out, ill no doubt take a break from it at some point and start a new one but ill go back to it after a month or so when the save feels fresh again.

Depends on how i feel about the club i'm managing. I try to win everything i can with the clubs i'm managing and i try to stay for as long as i can.

I haven't changed a club in at least ten years. The day I get a new FM I fire the editor up and create a club. I manage it until the next FM comes and go again.

It depends really on where i am at the end of the season, i only put myself on 1 year contracts each time and evaluate my options at the end

I'm currently finishing my fifth season with Lokomotiv Sofia and intend on being around for a long time. I just signed a new long-term deal with the club and tied down my two star players to new contracts until 2020. Feels good man.

I haven't done a journeyman save is ages. I probably should give one a go soon as I love the thrill of taking over a club at the foot of the table, and desperately trying to steer them away from the drop.

I usually get bored after about 5-6 seasons, so if I haven't won the league by then I usually give up.

Depends on the success I'm having (or not, as the case may be). Although I ws enjoying the game and would liked to have stayed there for a long time, I left Wolves after three years to take over at Tottenham. I don't regret it at all. I don't like to aim to stay in a job for a specified length of time; it just depends on the circumstances at the time and what other jobs interest me.

just lasted 8 months with Bahia in Brazil.

On FM12 so far I have stayed at Arsenal for 6 years and do not plan on stopping, on previous FM games I took jobs when they became available and I fancied the challenge

Someone on another fm forum simulated 200 seasons. You can never die in the game so you can go on as long as you want... until the savegame becomes to big

After you reach 100 you never get any older, but the game never retires you, you just stay 100 years old from that point onward.

The size of the savegame kills you basically LOL I never went over 20 years, I don't see the point after that, all the real young players retire, and really I don't like playing with regens so much.

Haha sadly i give up when a new version of the game comes out, so getting past 40 seasons is hard, i'm one of those who cannot not play the new version as soon as it comes out, but i have seen people play for over a 100 years and eventually you just stop getting older in the game. Basically the only thing that stops you going forever is the size the save becomes eventually and the computer your playing it on. After 30 or so seasons my game takes about 3-4 minutes to load and about the same again to save.

Derby: 5 minths

Also managed internationally with:

USA under 23's: 6 weeks

Iceland: 9 months

England: 3 years (still in charge)

How long do I manage a club? Forever.

Usually I manage Athletic Bilbao and stick with that as long as possible. Sometimes I will start other saves, but usually get bored with them after a few seasons and go back to my Athletic save.

use to stick to the same club until I get bored and start a new game (but i often have a few saves runing at the same time)
