How long will a player refuse to negotiate for a contract?

I just offered Ganso quite a lucrative contract, but I was unwilling to give their agent that much of an amount. I was playing around and now they no longer want to negotiate with me, even though Ganso wants a move to Real Madrid.

His bloody agent had a 1 patience, which made negotiating a pain in the ass.

How long will this last? It's been a few months and it's the transfer window, so I really want to get him here.

While I'm here I'd like to say too that negotiating a contract is now crap. I mean, who, when he is on a 40k/week wouldn't want a move for 110k/week, with Champions League playoff, Title challenger and a well reputed team? How can a player/agent decide immediately on the spot saying, " this contract offer is crap.".

Surely they would go, "Give us some time to consider this and we will get back to you ASAP."

In an ideal world, this player would then sack his agent and find a better one. It's never really bothered me but then I don't generally manage at the highest levels in FM, so I've never absolutely needed a specific player.
