Iran. The land of great newgens

In my Shaktar game, Iran has been churning out the newgen talent. I have signed 3 of them.

They have a good mix of youth and experience right now. They are out playing their opponents in Asian Cup qualies something like 32 shots to 5. (One of them they miraculously lost 1-0 to Malaysia after outshooting them 31-1).

So the question is, have you ever seen a nation in your game continue to churn out talent. Outside of the traditional powers.

For me, it's West Africa. The place is a footballing goldmine; Niger, Nigera, The Ivory Coast, Gambia, Senegal, Ghana and even as far north as Morocco... just can't stop churning out superstar after superstar.

Iran really is a sleeping giant of a football nation right now. The amount of passion for football there is huge, and given it's a nation of 75M people, I do think one day it could be among the elite teams of the World. That day may well be a long way away, but hopefully at least for the Asian confederation, it will wake up sooner rather than later and have a good impact on the World stage.

I think Japan will be the one to watch out for soon especially after reading about them in the recent Four-Four-Two magazine.

yeah soccer is overtaking baseball as the top sport there. But FM does not produce Japanese regens.

It's possible. But they're frequantly rubbish, truth be told.

Yeah maybe not on FM2012 but in future editions of FM there will be some good Japanese players.

Africa seems to be the best place for me on my save. Picked myself and gem of a Rwandan (sp?) Regen on free for my Third Division Brazilian side.

I've found some pretty awesome looking regens from both Northern Ireland and ROI. Almost all are available for less than £100k and no work permit issues.

Saudi Arabia has been producing some good ones as well. A lot of good defenders. Meanwhile Iran has more attacking midfielders.

No, it's something I've never experienced in FM. It's always the same few countries for me.

For me it's Mexico. Then numerous countries from Africa.

I never seem to find exciting talent from the likes of Africa, South Korea, China or Iran. I'm wondering if how I set the game up at the start is something to do with this.

I tend to pick around 20 playable leagues - but obviously that doesn't help me with countries like Africa and Iran much. But I have never used the custom database to load players from certain areas. I'm not sure what to do for the best - loading those with continental rep seems pointless, as I would assume regens don't have that when they start out in the game.

Do people use this much? I'm talking about what you can do in the game, not any downloadable leagues. What custom datbase settings do people use to get the best playing experience and most regens from non-playable countries.

Germany for me, got some quality youngsters from there.

Belgium seem to have a massive wave of young talent. There under 21's and under19's are packed with quality.

Turkey has some great ones as well

^Turkey always have some cracking Centre Midfielders and strikers. I remember a regen called Ali Ker, 6ft 6. Broke all Inter Milan records for me

For me it's South Africa, or more specifically SuperSport Utd. Over the course of three years their youth team produced players four players roughly equivilent to Jesus Navas, Juan Manuel Mata, Michael Dawson and Douglas Costa. I managed to sign three of them for my Bolton side.

On my current save (7 years in) the best player in the world is a Right Winger from Uzbekistan, he plays for Barcelona.

Eastern Europe is generally very, very good in my saves. Especially Russia and Belarus.

what have you got loaded up to get iranian newgens?? I am not getting any from Clairefontaine (apparently if you have French leagues open you don't) or RGUOR Minsk.

Australia has produced some crazy good newgens in my game.

Turkey and Greece usually produce WAY TOO MANY good newgens, at least that was the case in FM2011...
