Regens and newgens are just too good to be real, you have wingers 6 foot 6, with skills like Messi, and just overall quality of players is too good, I bet some people like it that way, but reason why I play FM is because it`s most realistic and this just doesn`t fit to me. I'm only 3 years in and I already bought about 100 regens because I was used to FM11 and they all exceeded my FM11 top team standards for young talents... :-/ BTW: Playing with a 90,000 player database. There were many complaints about their low quality, so SI has apparently made the overall quality better. This may be one of the factors that makes the game too easy for some of us - while the AI benefits from more access to higher quality players, so do we... only we're better. JamboSteven Posted November 29, 2011 Share Posted November 29, 2011 I remember in FM 2010, i was about 12 years in my save and found this newgen with almost every stat being 20. His only weaknesses were natural fitness and stamina (both were below 10). Despite this, giving him a run out of 45 mins or so would still see him dominating. I wasn't lucky enough to be able to sign him and I stopped playing shortly after discovering him so I can't really pass anymore comments, I would have loved to have seen him in action though. Are you actually seeing that though? I'm not far enough in my save yet. Generally the AI is atrocious at player development and leave a lot of regens with great potential in the reserves. evora69 - are you finding that? 16 year olds should come with poor physical attributes - they haven't finished growing yet. And I didn't even load that country. 7 of my first team (sweden) are from Argentina and 5 of them are classified as Home-Grown since they have been in my club ever since 18. Besides, football players are getting better and better and the superstars from 10 years ago would not stand out that much now. (ie, Ryan Giggs, Welsh, MLC, AML - Will the newgen be Welsh, a MLC, AML and similar PA as Ryan Giggs, thinking about it, this seems like a regen) or is it that Ryan Giggs retired, a random Welsh person with random position and PA in his place? milnerpoint Posted December 2, 2011 Share Posted December 2, 2011 I dont think its quite as simple as that, what your describing with the giggs example is what used to happen a long time ago and yes they were called regens as they were regenerated players, but basically carbon copies of players already in the database. Honestly im not quite sure the criteria for the game making new players, i think it will be a combination of avaliable players withing a CA/PA range, which will take the countries reputation level into account. Regens back in the days of CM, newgens in FM2005-2006 (maybe in cm4 as well, can't be sure) and the current FRED system.
