Ten Ton FC - October 2011 report

On the back of 2 winless league games, the last thing we needed was a difficult away FA Cup trip to Nuneaton of the BSN. They scored early and left us chasing the game. We pulled one back, but they hit another two as we pressed forward, and in truth the 3-2 scoreline probably flattered us somewhat, so our FA Cup dream was over before it began. The Setanta Shield was no better. A 1st round clash with Bishop's Stortford ending tied at 2-2 and with truly awful penalty takers on the pitch (highest rating: 5), we inevitably lost the shootout.

At least we are free to concentrate on the league. It's been topsy turvy - a convincing 4-1 win at St Albans was followed by a home match against Newport, who share a play off berth with us. This game saw the introduction of an experimental, very attacking 4-4-2. It had instant results; we raced into a 3 goal lead inside 15 minutes. Unforunatly, we were pegged back by half time, but the boys dug deep and killed the game with 2 in the second half, a 5-3 win. I persisted with it away to Bath, also riding high, but this was over-ambitious, resulting in a 3-1 defeat. Next up were a poor looking Fisher side, who were brushed aside 4-1. At month end, we sit a promising 3rd (http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll247/bermybhoy/Ten%20Ton%20Oct/leaguesep.jpg), although Billericay has gone 5 ahead of us in the race for top spot.

Our defence looks a bit leaky, but this is certainly due to the attacking tactics used for most of the month. At the other end, Adams and Turkington have been doing well, with 14 between them and averages of 7.50 for the season. Simon Owen (http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll247/bermybhoy/Ten%20Ton%20Oct/owen.jpg) continues to be the star turn, setting up 9 goals in his 14 games and chipping in with 5 himself for good measure. Of our own players, Ishmael Reeves (http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll247/bermybhoy/Ten%20Ton%20Oct/reeves.jpg), the left back is averaging 7.38, in part due to his dead ball expertise which has seen 4 goals and 9 assists. The play off spot is still looking achievable...

A playoff place would be great. If you don't get promoted, it would leave a good base to build upon and a bit of stability.

Something we have been missing.

Ten Ton FC - November/December 2011 report

Our free scoring form continued in the first two games of the month, a 3-1 away win against Basingstoke followed by a 4-2 drubbing of Hornchurch. However, our consistency isn't what it could be, a routine looking away fixture at Welling resulting in a poor 3-1 defeat.

After two weeks of inactivity, due to being knocked out the cups, we had another cup game, this time easily beating minnows Kidsgrove 2-0 in the FA Trophy. Maybe one cup will be kind to us. The month was rounded off against Havant & Waterlooville, who we thrashed 5-0, marking our first league clean sheet for 6 weeks.

December opened with a trip to Bedford, who were duly dispatched by a single goal. Unfortunately, the goalscorer, loan signing Turkington, went back to Wolves after the game, as they declined to renew his loan. He did well for us though, notching 7 in 14 starts, and clearly enjoyed it - the Monkeys are now on his list of favourite clubs...worth noting for when his contract expires, perhaps.

With results elsewhere, that win shot us to the top, where we've stayed. It was followed that with a tricky looking home match with Dorchester, who sit in the play off spaces, but they were comfortably beaten, 2-0. The FA Trophy then took us away to BSN opponents again, this time Cambridge City. The outcome, though, couldn't be more different...the team played some great stuff, banging away 6 goals. The free scoring wasn't about to stop, the boxing day fixture with Chelmsford game the Monkeys growing group of fans a perfect Christmas present in the form of a 5-1 thrashing.

That run brought another milestone, Paul Wallace's first manager of the month award (remarkerable considering aaberdeenn previously claimed manager of the year for Wallace). Things are looking very good right now.

Southern Softies - Mid-Season review

P25 W10 D10 L5 GF 45 GA 39

Position 9th

Overall I'm reasonably happy with the way the team is progressing and we are now on a good winning streak on home turf. Our problems lie away from home where we are drawing to many game to lower opposition and getting outclassed by play off rivals. That said we are only 5 points off the play offs with a game in hand so my prediction of 5th is still attainable although a good runb is required.

As predicted my best player is Chris Driver who has set up the majority of my goalsd and chipped in with a couple. The problem is when he is not available my team struggles as I don't have another player capable of acting as the playmaker. Up front my strikers have started scoring more freely now, i predominantly rotate between 4 strikers at the moment depending on their form. Jermaine Blackburn is the most prolific and starts most games with either Ryan Barker , Andy Talbot or Tim Phillips partnering him.

At the back my two centre backs are either very good or go missing. Lee Foster has been the better of the two but Paddy Byrne has also played well so far. I've signed a promising cb Simon Holgate who is definitely ready to start and will get his chance in the new year.

My Cup runs are over with the exception of the setanta shield after losing in a replay to aldershot in the FA trophy and getting beat by league one burnley in the 1st round of the FA cup.

Hopefully have the season finished by late tonight or tommorow for whoever is next in line.

Ten Ton FC - January.February 2012 report

The new year began as the old one ended, with a 4-0 hammering of Weston-super-mare. A 2-2 draw with Bromey proved a small blip, as we went to to hammer Bognor Regis, also 4-0. Next up was the next FA Trophy tie, this time away to BSP opposition in the form of struggling King's Lynn.

My theory right now is that we are way too good for this division, and that this give us an indication of how true that held. With our all-out attacking formation employed, we ran out very comfortatble winners, 3-0, away from home. They will most likely get relegated, but it looks good for next season, regardless of which division we're in.

That was followed by a rare defeat though, by a goal to nil against Lewes. A pick-me-up was required, and it came in familiar form. James Turkington, who'd been on loan earlier in the season, was once more listed for loan by Wolves. With the Monkeys a favourite club, he didn't think twice about signing up for another 3 months. He didn't mess about, showing his credential with a brace away to Braintree. Thurrock, sure to go down, were also sent packing by the same scoreline.

February saw the wheels come off our promising looking FA Trophy campaign. Dorchester, flying high alongside Ten Ton in the BSS, employ a tricky 4-4-2 diamond. For once, we snubbed out the threat of their AMC, but unfortunately ignored their centre forward, who helped himself to a hattirck. Despite that, it might have went either way and we were unlucky to go down 4-3.

The team brushed aside the disappointment to record successive wins by our fabourite score, 3-0. It set up our biggest game of the season, a true 6 poniter against Forest Green. They sat 3 points behind us, in second. Sadly for once, out attack mis-fired completely, and we went down meekly to a 1-0 reverse, to allow them level on points. The malaise continued when St Albans pitched and held us to a no scoring draw. Even our irrepressible captain, left back Ishmael Reeves, was off form, missing a penalty that would have kept us ahead on goal difference at the top.

The form has tailed off slightly, but we rewmain in a strong position. As long as we don'd drop any more stupid points, we're well placed for promotion. Failoing that, a play off spot is virtually guaranteed. Aside from that, it's been noted that clubs are taking a lot of interest in our players...a few of the back ups may well be sold off to capitalise while we can...

I decided to cancel the link with arsenal. My chairman replaced them with chester although i haven't been sent any players yet. They are struggling in league two so doubt they would help much anyway.

Currently still 9th with 13 games to go. 2 points off the playoffs with a game still in hand. Its getting very tight and my gk is now out for a month and i have very poor cover, just got stuffed 5-2 away to the leaders stockport. Could go either way but hoping i can sneak into the playoffs.

loan market has finished. Its all gone horribly wrong for the softies, 2 points in 15 has left us 4 points off the play offs with 5 games remaining. My team has lost the plot, missed penalties, bad back passes and sending offs right at the wrong time of the season. still a slim hope but i think the play offs are out of reach now.
Away to wrexham and if i dont win that i'm out of it.

Stats
Prediction: 5th
Final Position: 11th

Top Scorer: Blackburn - 25
Top Rated: Talbot 7.33 (14 starts 10 goals)
Star Player: Chris Driver (43 starts 15 assists 4 goals)

Initial Squad Size: 65+
Final Squad Size: 31 (all 3 teams - 8 players contract are up in summer plus all the backroom staff)
*Whoever takes over please keep the squad at a respectable number i.e less than 40

Finances: 409k
Season profit: 240k
Wage Bill: 5.7 k (1k under wage limit)

Board Confidence: Absolutely Delighted
Fan Confidence: Dissapointed over form of players and my signings (understandable)

Must be Released or Sold: Vaughan, Casey, M Williams (Was my captain but performances were woeful for 2nd half of season despite reasonable stats)

Well in the end the play offs proved out of reach with one of the worst run ins I have ever been involved with on the game. After a great run of form through feb and march I was in 3rd and looking good for at shot at going up. Unfortunely for me my side rested on their laurels and put in some shocking displays. This resulted in only 5 points from my last 10 games!!

I would love to blame this on injuries or suspensions but apart from one of my strikers talbot and a centre back my full squad was available and just didnt perform. I tried to change my tactics but after it became clear I wasnt going to make the playoffs I tried to experiment to see if a new tactic would work.

Run In (http://img225.imageshack.us/my.php?image=runinfo2.png)

Final Table (http://img225.imageshack.us/my.php?image=leaguetablepy1.png)

Squad

Overall they performed very well but when it mattered they bottled it!! Whoever takes over will have basis for a good season next year and if you can add a new centre back to partner Foster and a holding midfielder to free our best player Driver this could help the side. Without a dm I had to play the attacking Driver as a holding midfielder as if he didnt do this my midfield was totally over run. A new goalkeeper is a must as neither beresford or matthews was good enough at this level and cost me numerous games in which goals should have been saved.

Upfront my biggest mistake was leaving Talbot in the reserves until after xmas as i forgot I had bought him and put him in reserves as he was injured! When he joined blackburn upfront we scored freely except in the run in when talbot was injured. Blackburn netted 23 league goals (25 overall) and talbot 10 goals in 14 starts.

Best Players
Blackburn (http://img225.imageshack.us/my.php?image=blackburnbo3.png)
Driver (http://img362.imageshack.us/my.php?image=driver2pk8.png)

Tactics
I played a 4-3-1-2 at home and a 4-1-3-2 away against the top sides.

My preferred X1 (Bold players were at the club before I took over)

Matthews

Goodridge Byrne Foster M.Williams

Barrett Driver J.Williams

Best

Blackburn Talbot

I will upload the save game later, this will be saved from the weekend after my final game as i think its better for the manager coming in to have as much time to plan ahead (also i would only holiday it which is isnt great for the guy coming in)

Finally, put me down for another season with the softies.

Good luck to whoever takes over the reigns!!

Been following this with great interest thus far; was wondering if I could put my name down provisionally for a season later on, preferablly the first season in the championship or somewhere around there.
I tend to be better at managing struggling teams in higher leagues, I'm carp at lower league management - but would love to have a stab, hence this proposal.

If this is okay, I would prefer to manage the Monkeys, as I followed Wallace's career too.

Ten Ton FC - March/April 2012 report

I predicted the match with Billericay would be important, and so it has turned out. Coming from a goal behind to lead 2-1 after 52 minutes, it looked like we would hold on for a vital 3 points. Heartbreak was to come though, in the form of an injury time equaliser. Frustratingly, yet again, we had failed to beat one of our promotion rivals.

That made it 3 games without a win, but we got back on track with a 3-2 win away to Newport, followed by a 3-0 win against Bath, both good results against 2 sides sniffing around the play off spots. Next, we travelled to Fisher to ease to an 4-0 win. Basingstoke then visited Solihull. The Monekys showed unusual weakness, throwing away a 2 goal lead, being pegged back to a draw. The dropped points left us in serious danger of losing sight of league leaders Forest Green, who had notched up a remarkable 12th successive win; a run which of course, featured that 1-0 success over Ten Ton.

6 points behind with 5 left, it wasn't looking good. On top of this, injuries began to mount: Turkington, Owen and the keeper Hancox, three of our most important players.

In spite of those losses, we have embarked on a winning streak near the end of the season, knocking 3 goals past Hornchurch, Havant, Bedford and Welling. Of course, the important thing is what happens to Forest Green. They have been showing the strain, drawing 2 of those games. Some mind games might be in order.

All that means that, heading into the final game, the table looks like this (http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll247/bermybhoy/leagueapril.jpg). Ten Ton FC are two points behind, with far superior goal difference. A win against Dorchester, who have been a thorn in our side this season, coupled with a defeat or draw for Forest Green against Basingstoke, will see us promoted. Anything less and we have to settle for the playoffs. Will it happen?

Wallace to remain at Ten Ton FC!

Contrary to media speculation, Paul Wallace and Ten Ton FC are delighted to announce that Wallace has signed a new, 3 year, £220 per week contract (http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll247/bermybhoy/contract.jpg). The board has decided that, despite the club's promotion prospects remaining unresolved, Wallace has done enough to earn another chance at leading the club to glory.

In an even bigger boost to the club, James Turkington, whose loan deal had expired, has recovered from injury and agreed to return to the club for a third loan spell to help the promotion cause.

Ten Ton League run-in

Dorchester are always difficult opponents, and this was no different. Ten Ton raced into a 1-0 lead in just 5 minutes, Andy Adams knocking it home. Dorchester fought back though, scoring with their first - then second - shots in the game. 2-1 down at half time, while Forest Green were two up. At this stage, the dream was over. Basingstoke pulled one back just after half time against Forest Green. But, with time running out and no more goals in Dorchester or Basingstoke, Ten Ton began to lose their discipline, with stand in right back Hamilton sent off, just our second red card of the season. A final goal in the last minute for Dorchester was largely academic.

So the promising season ended in some disappointment.

The play offs gave us a tie against Newport, who'd secured 5th spot on the last day.

In the first leg, Turkington, back and fully fit, banged away two goals in the first half hour to give us a comfortable lead. Then things started to go wrong - the defence collapsed, and Newport somehow found themselves 4-2 ahead. With time running out to salvage our season, young defensive midfielder McDonald picked up a loose ball from a corner, and smashed it home from 30 yards. Despite continuing to press, it finished 4-3. Disappointing, but at least the record, near capacity crowd got some entertainment. Balanced on a knife edge...

The second leg was an entirely different affair. Our form finally returned, at the perfect time. Turkington with two, a Reeves penalty and Dunn with goals either side of half time meant the Monkeys were 5-0 up by the 50th minute, and there was no way back for Newport. One game from promotion!

Play off semis scores:

Ten Ton FC 8-4 Newport
Billericay 4-3 Dorchester

Well thankfully we will avoid Dorchester in the final. Billericay won't be any easier though - in 5 meetings, we have never won...is it about to change?

Play off final - Ten Ton FC v Billericay

Ten Ton went into the match as 13-8 outsiders. The monkeys started brightly. After just 7 minutes, Turkington picked the ball up outside the box, spun his man, and banged home from twelve yards. 1-0 Ten Ton!

Just 4 minutes later though, the tie was back level. Then. after 38 minutes, disaster for Ten Ton - Steve Hughes left unmarked a the back post to notch his second of the game. Billericay were in the ascendancy and deserved their lead.

Just four minutes later though, Dunn threaded it through perfectly for Turkington. From the edge of the box, he rifled it past the keeper 2-2, game on!

The second half was more subdued, after I switched to our defensive formation, but remained even. Time was running out and it looked like both sides had settled for extra time. With just five minutes left, Billericay pressed forward. Reeves stepped in to clear the ball to the half way line. Turkington picked it up and this time he returned the compliment from the first half by playing a perfect ball between the centre backs to Dunn. 40 yards out, there was plenty to do. He carried it to the edge of the box, drew the keeper and I'll let the commentary (http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll247/bermybhoy/ten%20ton%20year%20end/gooall.jpg) do the talking! Our top players were the three loan signings, Adams (http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll247/bermybhoy/ten%20ton%20year%20end/adams.jpg) and Turkington (http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll247/bermybhoy/ten%20ton%20year%20end/turkington.jpg) up front and Owen (http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll247/bermybhoy/ten%20ton%20year%20end/owens.jpg) on the right wing. If they can be brought back next season, they will definitely also do a job in the BSP.

Of our own players, Reeves (http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll247/bermybhoy/ten%20ton%20year%20end/reeves.jpg) is the star turn. Captain and a dead ball expert, he notched an impressive 16 goals and 21 assists in 47 games from the left back position. Star youngster was James Dunn (http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll247/bermybhoy/ten%20ton%20year%20end/dunn.jpg), who banged away 22 goals, including the one that took us up. Championship Wolves have been interested - he is quite the prospect. In terms of weak links - there really aren't that many. All the top players are under contract for at least another year and I think, good enough for the BSP. A few others are out of contract, the new manager should check them out and see what he makes of them.

With our profile high, I managed to sell another 4 players (http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll247/bermybhoy/ten%20ton%20year%20end/transfers.jpg) for a combined £155k, with sell on clauses, none of whom was vital to the first team. With attendances at a record high of over 1200, we turned a profit of £263k, and have a healthy balance of £237k - with luck the board will loosen the purse strings to allow some more signings to be made.

Overall then I think it looks pretty promising for next year. The first team squad (http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll247/bermybhoy/ten%20ton%20year%20end/squad.jpg) is strong and should be able to at least survive, but maybe lacks a bit of depth. One piece of advice to the next person - we are still part time, please make sure any new contracts are negotiated as full time (it defaults to part time), it has made a big difference this year.

If anyone's interested, after 5 years of being controlled by 5 different people, Wallace's profile looks like this. (http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll247/bermybhoy/ten%20ton%20year%20end/wallace.jpg)

Save game is right here. (http://files.filefront.com/Ten+Tonfm/;10136253;/fileinfo.html) Good luck to Ridleys in the BSP

Hmmm...just download the save and get cracking I guess. If Nep pops in he can maybe email you instructions on changing the team name (I don't have access to the email account I have it on).

Think I've covered what I think of the players...there's been a lot of scouting done already, might be worth checking out the scout reports and shortlists to see who is coming out of contract that might be interested in signing. Don't think there's too many of our own players coming out of contract.
In terms of tactics I used the 4-4-2 attacking mostly and 4-4-2 defensive, entirely up to you how you play it of course.

And don't forget about the full time thing!

Good luck with it.

Make sure players the contract is set to full time if you're negotiating with anyone. They were all part time previously and I'm fairly sure it's part of the reason we had become so carp.

Ten Ton FC August 2012 report

I still don't know how to change the name from Solihull Moors.

So, The Monkeys are back in the Blue Square Premier for the 2nd tim in their history. After relegation the last time they reached this level, they will be hoping to survive for longer than 1 season this time. Pre Season went well, losing just one of 5 games, scoring 13 in the progress. I brought in a few players, Michael Bastow (http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/ridleys_album/MichaelBastow.jpg) a goalkeeper from Wrexham on a free transfer, Ben Vaughan (http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/ridleys_album/BenVaughan.jpg) a midfielder from Merthyr Tydfil for £1k and Ben Bell (http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/ridleys_album/BenBell.jpg) a striker on a season long loan from Leicester, to strengthen and add more depth to the team.

The month started poorly with an abysmal 0 - 5 (http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/ridleys_album/GraysvTenTonFC.jpg) defeat to Grays Athletic. We defended poorly and the strikers couldn't get the supply they needed to bag a goal. The second game was just as bad, losing 2 - 6 (http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/ridleys_album/KidderminstervTenTonFC.jpg) against Kidderminster. Once again we defended awfully but at least we managed to score a couple of goals. I felt the need to sign a defender and I got Dave Reid (http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/ridleys_album/DaveReid.jpg) on a season long loan from Leicester.

We slowly started to show signs of improvement as we grabbed a deserved 2 - 2 (http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/ridleys_album/TenTonFCvSouthport.jpg) draw at Southport, with both goals coming from Free Kicks taken by Ishmael Reeves. We also managed a draw 1 - 1 (http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/ridleys_album/TenTonFCvTorquay.jpg) against Torquay, on TV, which saw us move off the bottom of the table at last.

The end of the month ended on a high, winning a game at last! It was an excellent game where we were behind for most of the game. We were 2 - 0 down in 20 minutes before grabbing a goal in the 25th minute. We went in 3 - 1 at half time and I was praying that it wouldn't turn in to another smashing. The team talk must have worked though as the lads came out full of confidence and going on to win the game 3 - 4 (http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/ridleys_album/HednesfordvTenTonFC.jpg)!

At the end of the month I brought in 2 more defenders, Andy Robertson (http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/ridleys_album/AndyRobertson.jpg) and Gavin King (http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/ridleys_album/GavinKing.jpg) to hopefully add more strength to the defence and concede less goals.

Ten Ton FC September 2012 report

I still don't know how to change the name from Solihull Moors. The email I got sent had an attachment which I put into the folder but it hasn't worked.

After the improvement towards the end of August, I was hoping for some more improvement this month. There were 8 league games in total, so the team was rotated a fair bit.

Results:

Ten Ton FC 0 - 2 Salisbury (http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/ridleys_album/TenTonFCvSalisbury.jpg) - Poor performance which led to a poor defeat really. Not a great start to the month.

Kings Lynn 1 - 1 Ten Ton FC (http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/ridleys_album/KingsLynnvTenTonFC.jpg) - 2 late goals and an 88th minute equaliser by James Dunn saw us draw a game which we should have won.

Ten Ton FC 5 - 1 Macclesfield (http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/ridleys_album/TenTonFCvMacclesfield.jpg) - How on earth were they unbeaten before this game!? We absolutely outclassed them. Despie them having slightly more possesion?

Aldershot 2 - 1 Ten Ton FC (http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/ridleys_album/AldershotvTenTonFC.jpg) - The other one of our 2 defeats this month. I can't really make any complaints though. They had more shots and were better coming forward. The best team won really.

Ten Ton FC 1 - 0 Blyth (http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/ridleys_album/TenTonFCvBlyth.jpg) - I can't believe how we only scored only 1 goal. We had 19 shots and completely dominated the possession. Still the result moved us up to 15th place so I was pleased.

Ten Ton FC 1 - 1 Ebbsfleet (http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/ridleys_album/TenTonFCvEbbsfleet.jpg) - Fairly even game where a draw was the best result, although we hit the bar twice.

Leigh RMI 2 - 3 Ten Ton FC (http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/ridleys_album/LeighRMIvTenTonFC.jpg) - I was confident at half time when we were 2 - 0 up that it would be an easy 3 points, but it wasn't. Tom Scannell was sent off just after half time and the pressure was on. They got it back to 2 - 2, but a wonderful goal by Ollie Hawthorne sealed the 3 points in the 88th minute.

Ten Ton FC 2 - 1 Kettering (http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg232/ridleys_album/TenTonFCvKettering.jpg) - Another fairly even game, which came down to which team took their chances, which was us.

So a decent second month, losing just 2 of the 8 games and picking up 14 points from a possible 24.

Robert,

The four key players I would look for are in order;

1. A reliable keeper - Niether keeper is up to much so this should be your first port of call. I find at this level good keepers are hard to find so maybe a loanee is required to fill this void.

2. A solid no frills DMC to allow Driver to play in an AMC role (providing you like playing with a AMC in your formation). Driver is quality and i think if played in the AMC role he would score bucket loads behind the striker/s.

3. A centre back partner for Foster ideally with some pace as he isnt the quickest

4. Talbot and Blackburn worked well up front but a striker with genuine pace may be better suited to this level and provide some much needed cover for injuries as when i lost one of them my cover wasn't good enough.

Hope this helps although i'm sure you will need more than 4 recruits to turn this team into promotion hopefuls. Good Luck with it!

Ten Ton FC October 2012 report

Not a good month unfortunately. We won just 1 of 5 games, losing 3 of them and drawing the other. We have dropped to 18th in the league again as well. A positive though was that we got through to the 2nd round of the FA cup with a win against Corby in the 1st round.

Results

Forest Green 2 - 1 Ten Ton FC - Unfortunate to lose this game. We dominated for most of the game but couldn't score when it matters. It didn't help that Simon Owen was injured eiher.

Bury 3 - 1 Ten Ton FC - Not much between the two teams really apart from they took their chances and we didn't.

Ten Ton FC 2 - 1 Boston Utd - Our only league win of the month, although they were 3rd from bottom so it was a game we had to win.

Ten Ton FC 0 - 1 Droylsden - A goal in the 5th minute secured a win for them. It was a poor game and a poor performance by us.

Crawley 1 - 1 Ten Ton FC - Dissapointing seeing as we led for half the game. Their equaliser in the 86th minute meant we had to settle with only 1 point.

Ten Ton FC 3 - 0 Corby (FA Cup 1st Round) - Easy win really and they weren't helped by getting one of their players sent off.

I can't put a league table in until the December update because I forgot to take screenshots in October and November meaning I can only get the current league table.

Ten Ton FC November 2012 report

Much better month compared to October. We lost only 1 game and came up with a fantastic 1 - 1 draw against league leaders Rushden on TV, as well as an even better 4 - 0 thrashing over Bristol Rovers who were 3rd at the time. We have also pushed back up to 14th place in the league.

Results

Ten Ton FC 4 - 0 Bristol Rovers - Once again we have shown our class to upstage one of the leagues promotion chasers. We did well to keep a clean sheet as well which we only managed once last month.

Weymouth 1 - 2 Ten Ton FC - One early goal and one late goals did enough to gain us 3 points on this occasion in a game that could have gone either way.

Ten Ton FC 2 - 1 Workington - Two first half goals withing 10 minutes of each other managed to scrape us the win, despite Workington piling on the pressure and scoring a goal 8 minutes from time to give them a little bit of hope.

Ten Ton FC 1 - 1 Rushden - Probably our most deserved point so far this season, although it was a shame we couldn't go on and win it after having most of the possesion and having more shots at goal.

Dag & Red 3 - 2 Ten Ton FC - Our only defeat of the month against possibly our easiest opponents of the month. When we scored a 83rd minute equaliser I thought that we had got a point but then a dubious penalty was given to them in the sying seconds of the game. Gutted.

I can't put a league table in until the December update because I forgot to take screenshots in October and November meaning I can only get the current league table.

Ten Ton FC December 2012 report

Another good month containing just one defeat again. We also managed to score 15 goals in the 7 games we played, including 3 or more goals in 4 consecutive games. We also played against Hull City in the 2nd round of the FA Cup which we unfortuantely lost 2 - 1, but it was a good effort.

Results

Ten Ton FC 1 - 2 Hull City (FA Cup 2nd round) - It was a good effort against a team 2 divisions higher. They were first to score and once we equalised i thought we were back in it, until just a few seconds later, right from the kickoff they basically sliced through my defence and scored again.

Ten Ton FC 3 - 0 MK Dons - With them aiming for a playoff place, this result would have hurt them. It also moved us up to 12th place in the table.

Ten Ton FC 4 - 4 Kidderminster - A very entertaining game although we chould have won with ease. We were 3 - 1 up at half-time despite them scoring and I thought that we would win comfortably, but they came at us and some how scored 3 goals in just 11 minutes to take the lead. In the end we were lucky to score a 90th minute equaliser.

Ten Ton FC 3 - 0 Blyth (FA Trophy 1st round) - after beating them only 1 - 0 in the league I felt that we needed to win this game by a bit more, so i set the team to go more attacking and it worked, with us runnung out easy winners.

Ten Ton FC 3 - 0 Ebbsfleet (Setanta Shield 4th round) - Another easy win, despite me resting a few players. We did get lucky though when they had a player sent off early on.

Torquay 0 - 1 Ten Ton FC - A scrappy game and a scrappy win in all fairness. They missed numerous oppurtunites, inluding a penalty, right before half time. They also had a player sent off right before half time, which hindered their chances of picking up any kind of result from the game.

Southport 2 - 1 Ten Ton FC - For the 2nd month in a row our only defeat of the month has come in the final match of the month. They went 2 - 0 in the first half, and our 51st minute goal didn't give us the right momentum to make us push forward and grab another.

Fantastic stuff Ridleys. Really got this side going in the right direction. Shame about October, really. In terms of points though, we're closer to the playoffs than to the relegation spots, which is a fine effort for the first season up.

Who are the top performers at this stage? What sort of actics are you using? Goals are fairly flying in at both ends. Best of luck for the rest of the season http://community.sigames.com/customicons/icon14.gif

This summer Roberts got rid of quite a few of the regulars to make money for other signings and to keep the wages down. Here are the transfers (http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o46/robert_29694/transfers.jpg). Nightingale (http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o46/robert_29694/Nightingale.jpg) may be old but I think he can do a job at left back and occasionally centre back, for this season at an rate as he has played 5 games for England so he should bring a lot of experiance to the defence. Ellis (http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o46/robert_29694/Ellis.jpg) seems a good signing and although I think Nightingale is a better defender he is only 27 so has a lot more years still in him. Darcy (http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o46/robert_29694/Darcy.jpg) is another right back to strenghthen the defence and has 4 under 21 caps to his name. Francis (http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o46/robert_29694/Francis-1.jpg) is another exoeriance player who is now well into his thirties but I was still delighted to snap him up on a free transfer as he has played for England 5 times scoring twice. Jones (http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o46/robert_29694/Jones-1.jpg) is the goalkeeper spc asked for as he is a "good signing for a league two side" and I think he can claim the number one shirt for himself.

I am rather pleased with my team from the four friendlies we played. Although we lost every game apart from the 4-0 win over Harrogate, we only lost to a late penalty and a 94th minute strike against Slough. We lost to the "mighty" Aberdeen 6-0 http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif and after leading over Chester we were pegged back and eventually lost 2-1.

I think I will use the 4-3-1-2 formation that was used last year as that was what I used in the 4-0 win over Harrogate and the unlucky loss to Slough. Here will be my first team lineup.

Legends 0-3 Stevenage We never had a chance in this game and we were blown away with nobody standing out with a good performance.

Dorchester 4-1 Legends This was a disgraceful loss and we only got a late consolation an own goal by Dorchesters centre back.

After these two dissapointing results I decided to change from a 4-3-1-2 formation to a 4-4-1-1 formation which worked better.

Legends 3-2 York This was a great result where we were at the start but then took the lead 2-1 and I thought we had blown it when they equalised but deep into the game my old favourite Tim Phillips came off the bench to score a wondergoal to win our first three points of the season.

Legends 1-2 Notts Co We were incredibly unlucky in this game where we were drawing for most of the game until they scored in the 88th minute to win

Macclesfield 2-1 Legends It was the same story as the last match, we were drawing and then they scored in the 83rd minute. So it seems we will need to improve on the last 10 or 15 minutes of a match.

Although it wasn't the best of months at least we are outside the relegation zone.

Not the best start to the season but we are 3 places away from the relegation zone.

Legends 0-0 Burton was our fans day and will not have helped us bring in bigger crowds in the future. A bore draw!

Grays 1-1 Legends was an even game with Talbot once again putting us into the lead and then five minutes later Grays equalised and that was how it finished.

Legends 5-3 Cambridge City was a hugely exciting game with a massive 8 goals in it, including four goals for Talbot who was starting to show brilliant form playing up front on his own.

Hinckley 4-1 Legends was a disaster of a game. We were 1-0 up at halftime and then conceded four second half goes to lose in this heavy defeat.

Legends 1-0 Billericay was heading for a 0-0 draw but Phillips came of the bench and delivered a brilliant goal to win the game for us.

Forest Green 3-2 Legends we were heading for an unlikely 2-1 victory until with 5 minutes left we failed to keep our lead again and we lost 3-2.

Legends 3-3 Hednesford we were 3-0 up and cruising and then in the last 20 minutes we failed to keep another lead.

In other news, Andy Talbot won the young player of the month award.

St Albans 0-2 Legends was a good game for us as after not being able to keep our leads at all the newly returned Jon Williams scored a wonder goal and Talbot scored again.

Legends 1-2 Wrexham I was expecting a heavy defeat and was surprised it was only by one goal and we could have got some points if we hadn't have conceded the two late goals.

Salisbury 0-2 Legends Our two best players scored in this match, Chris Driver and Byron Francis and it was a comfortable victory.

Legends 2-3 Crawley Again their late goals cost us as we were about to win and they scored twice in the last five minutes.

Cambridge 2-0 Legends is a result I would like to forget.

Legends 2-3 Brentford was over at halftime where we went in 3-0 down although we picked up two goals in the second half we still left pointless.

Billericay 3-1 Fisher (FA cup 4th quallifying round) was a bad re**** as we expected it to be a close game but we would have liked to have played better than that.

We would be challenging for playoffs now if we didn't conced all those late goals so I am quite pleased with how we are doing so far.

In november we only got 4 points from four games but we had games against some very difficult opposition.

Nuneaton 3-1 Legends was a bd game as we were losing badly 3-0 and Talbot scored a consolation goal after 62 minutes.

Legends 0-0 Kettering could have gone either way and even though I was at home I am reasonably happy that we managed to get a point and delighted that we got a clean sheet as those have been our problems this season.

Rochdale 2-0 Legends was a bad game where we conceded early and then with 15 minutes left we changed to 4-4-2 and with a bad pasback from Nightingale Rochdale scored their secod to put the game to bed.

Legends 2-1 Aldershot We finally got a bit of luck of our own where we were losing 1-0 but in the last 10 minutes we scored twice to win the match.

<pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre">pos pld won drn lst for ag GD pts
17th 25 7 6 12 35 44 -9 27</pre>

AFC Wimbledon 0-3 Legends was a game where everything went right for us where we ended up being 3-0 up at halftime and there was no coming back from that.

Stevenage 1-1 Legends was a game where we were unlucky not to win as we were 1-0 up for most of it and then they equalised in the 87th minute.

Legends 2-2 Hinckley (FAT 1st round) was a game which we should have won as we were 2-0 up but they pegged us back, I was glad not to lose and would have settled for the replay at the start of the game.

Hinckley 0-2 Legends (FAT 1st round rep)was a great game where we scored tow brilliant second half goals and kept a clean sheet to put us into the next round. What more could I have asked for?

Legends 0-0 Dorchester was a game I had expected to lose convincingly but our good form was shown as we managed to keep them at bay and drew 0-0.

Southport 2-3 {AET}(SS 4th round). A great way to end 2011 and an unbeaten December with a 3-2 victory over BSN team Southport where we were 2-0 up and again squandered the lead and we eventually won from a 110th minutes strike from substitute Best.

I am reasonably happy with the first half of the season as if it hadn't have been for our inability to keep hold of leads we would be chasing a playoff place, and as we managed to do that in December it was no surprise we went unbeaten all month.

So here is my starting XI

<pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre"> Matthews

Ellis Holgate Byrne Nightingale

Blackburn Driver Wood Williams

Francis

Talbot</pre>

I think now I should be aiming to get as far away from the relegation zone as possible and as there is still just under half the games left which means if we keep up the form from December we could easily find ourselfs mid table.

What a month!!

Notts county 2-1 Legends got the month of to a bad start as we were losing badly and we got a late consolation goal to make the score respectable.

Legends 5-2 was a game where we were cruising all game and started or great winning streak.

Legends 1-0 Macclesfield was a game I had expected to lose but it was heading towards a draw until my sub Tim Phillips notched the winner.

Legends 3-0 York (FAT 2nd round) was a great game where Driver scored a brace and Talbot got a late goal aswell.

Burton 0-5 Legends was undoubtably our best performance of the season so far where for the second time this month we netted 5 goals and this time we managed to keep a clean sheet.

Legends 2-3 Grays was a game we shold have won where we were leading 1-0 at halftime and then conceded 3 goals with only a late consolation making it 3-2.

Much better start this time. 4 wins and only 1 loss taking us too 2nd place from 5 games!

Kidderminster 4 - 6 Ten Ton FC - What a game! We were comfortably winning 2 - 1 after 20 minutes, but then disater struck after Gary Gray got sent off after 29 minutes. I knew from then on it would be a tough task, but the boys didn't lose concentration and even after it was edging towards a 4 - 4 draw in the 90th minute we kept going. Amazingly we scored 2 in the final 3 minutes of the 4 minutes stoppage time to win 6 -4.

Ten Ton FC 3 - 0 Southport - They were full of confidence after winning 5 - 0 in their first game, but we went in to the game full of positives as well. The game wasn't actually as good as the scoreline suggests. It was only 1 - 0 with 5 minutes to go, but once again 2 late goals sealed the win, just like the Kidderminster game.

Grays 1 - 0 Ten Ton FC - We were the ones who usually score late goals, but not in this game. It was a boring lifeless game with no real attempts and only a few oppurtunities. We had the best of the possesion but lost out in the final minute of the game (well technically they scored after the final whistle should have gone). If I could, I would have complained, but I can't so for the ref's sake he better not referee us again.

Ten Ton FC 1 - 0 Torquay - Our first TV game of the season, and it wasn't all that entertaining. This time though it was an early goal that sealed the victory after James Dunn scored in the 4th minute.

Hednesford 1 - 7 Ten Ton FC - I'm a little dissapointed with not keeping a clean sheet, but the 7 goals made up for it. Once again 2 goals in the last minute and a fantastic hattrick from Mark McCombe helped us thrash Hednesford. Hopefully we can carry this form in to the coming weeks and maintain our position in the league.

Balance: £432K
Profit: £31.38K
Wage difference: -£824 (It has strangely just gone up as it was less than the budget and without signing anyone it has increased)

I was very dissapointed in our finishing position as it makes it look like we were fighting against relegation but we should have done a lot lot better than that as I have said before, mainly in the first half of the season we could not keep our leads and have squandered a lot of points because of that.

THe formation most of the time was:

<pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre"> Matthews

Ellis Holgate Byrne Nightingale

Blackburn Wood Driver Williams

Francis

Talbot</pre>

I used this formation most of the season with Phillips coming off the bench for Talbot after about 70 minutes unless he was having a really good game. When we neared the end of the season I pulled Francis back into centre midfield and put Phillips up front who scored 5 in 3 games and we went on an unbeaten run winning two games and drawing one.

My Signings

Ryan Nightingale - His stats looke quite good and he played almost all of the gammes but his average rating of 6.43 reflected his performances and he wasn't very good and I was glad to sell him for £1K at the end of the season as I made a profit.

Andrew Ellis - was a good signing for £3K and in my opinion improved our defence greatly with an average rating of 7.

Gary Darcy - only played 6 games for us and wasn't very impressive for us.

Byron Francis - He is getting on a bit but that doesn't stop him being a class act, he was great in attacking midfield scoring goals and linking up with Talbot.

Dean Jones - We payed a lot (6K) for him but he conceded 7 goals in his first two games and didn't play for us again.

Good luck PoopyPants/Dafuge and here (http://files.filefront.com/Southern+Softies1fm/;10250629;/fileinfo.html) is the save http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Yeah we could maybe do with some different people involved, but we're good up to season 10 for the Softies and only 7 for the Monkeys. Therefore Paul Hartman if you don't mind sticking with the Monkeys that would be great. DodgeeD, will put you at 10.

Ten Ton FC - 10 game update

No cups entered yet, so just 10 league games.

<pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre">

Table

Pos | Team | Pld | Won | Drn | Lst | For | Ag | G.D | Pts

James Dunn | 10 | 10 | 3

So, not a bad start, but not the best. Unlucky in every defeat, losing by no more than 1 goal in any game, but managed a massive 7-0 win in the 4 victories. I signed a few players, David Mulholland being the best, and making an instant impact. He's only 17 too, so should have a good future at the club.

I recommend getting Andy Robertson on loan I think from West Brom. He is a very solid defender!

Simon Owen is someone you basically have to get on loan as well.

Also there are a few good keepers that you can get on loan http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Ten Ton FC - Halfway Mark

Info - It's been an OK season thus far. Much better than the last time I ventured into the BSP with Ten Ton. http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif .Sat 13th after 23 games, and but for a few unlucky defeats and draw, could easily be in the hunt for a play-off place.

League Table (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/NepentheZ/TenTon/Season%202/Table.jpg)

We have the top scorer in the league in James Dunn, who hit 19 goals in 19 games before getting injured. Since then, he hasn't scored in 5 games.

Team Selection (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/NepentheZ/TenTon/Season%202/SquadSelection.jpg)

Spot the oddities? Yes, thats right. The towering Goalkeeper has 9 goals. Corner Bug? Not even close. He's 2nd in the Free Kick list, and has 3 goals from Free Kicks this season. He does have 6 goals from corners, but his status is set to "Attack near post" - and not "Challenge GK". Why did I lump him up there? He's the best "Jumper" in the team, with an attribute of 18. The fact I can't see his heading made it easier for me to put him up for corners.

Transfers

Warren McCullagh - ST (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/NepentheZ/TenTon/Season%202/WarrenMcCullagh.jpg), Signed due to the lack of strikers at the start of the season. Has good prospects.

Ross Bannon - ST (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/NepentheZ/TenTon/Season%202/RossBannon.jpg), Another striker, and became the clubs youngest ever player Aged 15 years, 142 days playing in an F.A Cup 4th Qual. Rd. Still only 15, he looks very, very gifted, and my coaches agree.

Brendan Davies - MC/ST (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/NepentheZ/TenTon/Season%202/BrendanDaviesMCST.jpg), Signed for the MC in him as back up, and looks quite decent. Would play more if it wasn't for the loan signing Owen.

Star Man - David Mulholland, AMRC (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/NepentheZ/TenTon/Season%202/DavidMulhollandAMRC.jpg) - Took him on trial at the start of the season when looking to strengthen the squad, and never looked back. For an 18 year old, he's dominated the midfield with 13 goals AND 17 assists in 23 matches, including 7 man of the match awards, and an average rating of 7.74. For a mid-table team, I'd say thats pretty exceptional.

Already on 4 assists away from Ishmael Reeves record of 21 assists in a single season.

Youth Promotion - Always when I'm in the lower divisions, I look at the "Grey" players in my U-18's to see if theres a little star there I can utilize. Rarely is there. In Ten Tons squad there was this guy...

Adam Richardson, MRC (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/NepentheZ/TenTon/Season%202/AdamRichardsonMRC.jpg) - Not the best player in the world, but blistering pace and acceleration, and thats why I got him. At this level, pace like that could help him dominate in games, despite lacking in other areas. I'm training him to become a Striker, and will give him some more run outs when I'm winning games.

The Past - I've not changed a lot from last season. Not touched staff, or training.Haven't sold any players, and only made a few signings. All thats really different is the tactics, as I'm using my own created tactic specifically for this team.

The Future - Looking into the second half of the season, I'd be happy with a top half finish, but am really aiming for the top 10. May take a few more players in, in the January Transfer Window.

- Any more info required, just let me know.

NepentheZ

Just a little idea....

To make the Forum manager more involved in the game, even when they are not playing.

How about assigning your forum name to a player in the squad you feel attached to? This player is not to be sold, but not favored upon by other manager.

It'll just keep me interested to see how "I" am doing in the game, even when I'm not playing.

I didn't mean actually "changing" the name, merely putting a nickname on the player.

Robert_296
21-05-2008, 13:44
Yes I know but it is still basically changing the name. Some people might not treat them as just an ordinary player and just play him all the time as he had your name.

bermybhoy
21-05-2008, 15:53
Nep

I think it's a decent idea. I can't see any harm in it at all. The main proviso would be that each subsequent manager has carte blanche to do what he likes, sell then on if he wants. The thing is, no-ones going to pick someone they don't think will do a turn for a few years. Robert, I see where you're coming from but think with the above it would work fine.

The main 'concern' I have about this is that people aren't taking much of an attachment, just rattle through it and whatever happens, happens. In reality for these teams to progress it takes a fair bit of work at the start of each season to get better players in and force the team forward. It's not like taking over Chelsea. If people don't want to spend that time, fair enough, but overall no progress will be made.

I see this as one way of encouraging people who take part to take more interest. Make sense?

The only issue is, since it's rotating between a few people, we could end up with multiple players named after us....

bermybhoy
21-05-2008, 15:54
Oh and Dunn was my find...plus he's Scottish...my man http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

NepentheZ
21-05-2008, 16:55
Exactly bermy. I didn't ever think this would be looked at in a negative POV. Although multiple naming wouldn't be to great, imo. Just 1 player. So for bermy, Dunn would be the player, as he found him, and has an allegiance to him. For me, it would be Mulholland. So on, and so forth. You are welcome not to do so, but I really don't see the harm in it.

bermybhoy
21-05-2008, 20:27
Me neither. Mulholland must be some player to inspire you this idea. It would be a pleasure for Dunn to assume my name (though if we had Owen permanently, I'd go with him). If it comes to a second time round, we can think up new names.

I also loved the full back, Reeves, exceptional at free kicks - from the edge of the box, just like a penalty to him. Can't believe you've found a someone better, less so a goalkeeper! Nice work.

bermybhoy
21-05-2008, 20:33
Actually, just looking at your post in more detail, it's struck me how much we judge a player differently. Honestly, I'm not sure I'd have gone for Mulholland, his stats don't look great. But on closer inspection, they're probably mostly in the right places, therefore a very good find.

aaberdeenn
21-05-2008, 22:53

Southern Softies // 2012-13 // Season 6

As Danny Roberts boldy threatens to go where no man has ever gone before, something gets in his way.

The team just won't tick, no tactic he plays works well with the team, and the fans will just be glad the season is over.

A very dissapointing season as 'The Softies' finish in 15th place - 1 place higher than last year.

The League Table (http://s263.photobucket.com/albums/ii143/Poopinho/?action=view&current=LeagueTable-1.jpg)

The Setanta Shield (http://s263.photobucket.com/albums/ii143/Poopinho/?action=view&current=SetantaShield.jpg)

End of Season - Ten Ton FC

League Table (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/NepentheZ/TenTon/201213/BSP.jpg)

Finished 14, but a little disappointing. Only 4 points off 11th spot, but from there, I was a mile away. I really thought I could push for a play off place, but it wasn't so. Droylsden, who finished bottom got 1 of their 6 wins against me, which annoys me, and I dropped vital points to other lower teams.

Graph (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/NepentheZ/TenTon/201213/Graph.jpg)

Finances (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/NepentheZ/TenTon/201213/Finances.jpg) - made a nice 1/4 Million profit.

Manager Overview (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/NepentheZ/TenTon/201213/ManOVer.jpg)

No fantastic cup runs, unfortunately.

Team Selection (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/NepentheZ/TenTon/201213/Selection.jpg)

- I really feel theres a great core squad here. The guys before me have done a great job making the squad. The players I've bought in I feel really add depth to the team, and we should be pushing for promotion within 2-3 years

Danny Cook - GK (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/NepentheZ/TenTon/201213/DannyCookT.jpg) - Signed on a free, and the best keeper in the squad.

Stephen Roche (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/NepentheZ/TenTon/201213/StephenRocheT.jpg) - What a capture. Signed from Charltons reserve team, he's easily one of the best players in the squad.

David Mulholland - AMC (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/NepentheZ/TenTon/201213/DavidMulholland.jpg) - A great signing. 20 goals AND 34 assiss in his first season, and hes only 18..!! Can become a true great for the club

James Dunn ST (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/NepentheZ/TenTon/201213/JamesDunn.jpg) - Finished top scorer for the club. Whoever signed this kid done a great job, he's top quality.

Mark McCombe AM/C (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/NepentheZ/TenTon/201213/MarkMcCombe.jpg) - didn't score as much as he should have done, but played really, really well all season.

So thats me.

A great squad here with a lot of potential. Hopefully whoevers next can keep the team together. http://community.sigames.com/customicons/icon14.gif

That's superb, thanks.

Funny thing is, I remember when that was first released. I liked it but never got around to putting it on my game. Then when the first 8.0.1 patch was released there was some problems with it not working with the new patch for some reason. That was the last I heard of it, I wasn't aware that it worked on the patches so never thought to go download it after that. I just thought it worked with the original boxed game.

Guys, for some reason, PhotoBucket(where I've already uplpoaded the screenies) and RapidShare aren't working, so I'll need to wait til later to post screenies.

I can tell you though that the Softies finished in 15th place http://community.sigames.com/customicons/icon13.gif

I thought we had a decent squad that might just squeeze through the play offs. But no.

Nothing would tick. The tactics I tried weren't working and the players just weren't playing well together.

In the cups, we got knocked out to Burnley 3-0.

SetantOh sod it.

Cheers aaberdeenn. Pretty much how I would envisage it, never been sure about the code thing though. Not sure how I ended up giving myself false credit for a league win! Must have got carried away with the promotion. Oh well.

Nep, decent season, great scoring record, just looks like we were a bit leaky at the back.

You signed some cracking players there, all 3 of yours there look like they could become very very good. I can take credit for Dunn and McCombe - have to admit I just signed the latter for the sake of it, barely played him myself and at one stage was going to sell him for a quick profit, looks like he was worth hanging on to though. Did you sell many players?

Good work. Like you say, if the next person can keep the core together and find a few players to boost the squad we can start looking at promotion before long http://community.sigames.com/customicons/icon14.gif

I don't think I sold anyone, to be honest.

A lot of the conceded goals was due to having a poor keeper. The defense isn't the best, but its certainly good. A few shroud investments this season, and you could easily win the division. http://community.sigames.com/customicons/icon14.gif

Both teams have now completed 6 seasons, and find themselves as safely mid-table sides in the BSP. This should be an interesting season for both.

Dafuge came close to taking the Softies up in their first season in the division, but performances have stagnated since. Is he the man to give them the final push into the Football Leagues?

PaulHartman is new to the Monkeys, a team with a lot of very good players who are on the up. With a few good signings they could also become challengers in their division.

There's every chance one or both could go up this season. Given the difficulties we have all found of playing a game of FM this way, it would be a fantastic achievement.

If anyone else feels up to the challenge and would like to take part, let me know.

August Games

10th August 2013
Ten Ton FC 0-4 Aldershot
Aldershot dominated this game, and the 4 goals we conceded was a compliment of our overall performance. Jason Jones of Aldershot got a hat-trick, with Stewart Weir making it 4.

Tuesday 13th August 2013
Dorchester 3-1 Aldershot
A game where we never really got going, until the 88th minute, when we got a surprising goal from Liam Lawson. Jamal Davis and Scott Archer had scored for Dorchester, along with our own Gary Gray finding his own goal.

Saturday 17th August 2013
Ten Ton FC 2-1 Burton
A game that had no goals until the 81st minute, when Mark McCombe put us ahead, however Burton's Steve Ryan equalised within 1 minute of injury time, yet we didn't give up, and in the 3rd and final minute of stoppage time, Mark McCombe got his and Ten Ton's second, to win us the match.

Saturday 24th August 2013
Halifax 0-1 Ten Ton FC
A fairly fortunate victory, with Ollie Hawthrone's sixty second minute strike the only difference between the two teams.

Monday 26th August 2013
Ten Ton FC 3-0 Salisbury
Fairly good game for us, fairly wonderful game for James Dunn who scored a tremendous hat-trick for us.

Saturday 31st August 2013
Weymouth 1-1 Ten Ton FC
Mark McCombe gave us the lead after 56 minutes, however Brendan King's 70th minute equaliser left the game without a winner.

September Games

Tuesday 3rd September
Ten Ton FC 0-2 Forest Green
A pretty poor game for us, with Forest Green's Ashley Wilkinson scoring both of their goals.

Saturday 7th September
Bristol Rovers 3-3 Ten Ton FC
Being 3-0 down at half time didn't give us a lot of chance, but with an 'Istanbul' like comeback, with Ross Bannon getting a goal 15 minutes from the end, and none other than James Dunn scoring two goals in injury time, we managed to get a crucial away point.

Saturday 15th September
Ten Ton FC 2-2 Cambridge
This time we were the team ahead at half-time, through two goals from James Dunn. However Cambridge scored 2 goals to level things up.

Tuesday 17th September
Kidderminster 3-2 Ten Ton FC
A game we never looked like winning, 3-0 down after an hour, we managed to claw 2 back, but we deservedly lost.

Saturday 21st September
Ten Ton FC 2-0 Southport
A fairly eventful match with Stephen Roche missing a penalty for us just before half-time. James Dunn put us ahead just before the half hour mark, with Stephen Roche making up for his earlier penalty miss by making sure of victory, however 10 minutes previous to that, we had Tom Scannell sent off for a horrific challenge.

Tuesday 24th September 2013
Crawley 1-0 Ten Ton FC
A fairly poor match, with Earl Neville scoring the only game of the game just before half-time.

Saturday 28th September
Ten Ton FC 1-1 Billericay
The game never really got going, Conor Ball put the Essex side ahead after 52 minutes, and Stephen Roche scored a penalty for us after 70 minutes, to leave it all sqaure.

After those games we sit 14th (http://s267.photobucket.com/albums/ii284/paulhartmanhardy/?action=view&current=TENTON3.jpg)

October Games

Boston Utd 0-3 Ten Ton FC
A great game for us, and especially James Dunn who scored a hat-trick.

Ten Ton FC 2-4 Kettering
A decent game for us, but Krystian Charlton destroyed us with his and Kettering's 4 goals.

Ten Ton FC 1-0 Torquay
A fairly boring game, and it was looking like a bore draw until we scored a goal 5 minutes from the end.

Ten Ton FC 2-0 Hednesford
A rare game where we were on TV, and we didn't dissapoint, 2 goals, both from James Dunn.

FA 4th Q Round - Ten Ton FC 0-2 Kettering
We again fell victim to Krystian Charlton, whos 2 goals ended our dreams of a run in the FA Cup.

Grays 1-1 Ten Ton FC
The game was a difficult one, and despite for 45 minutes when Grays were down to ten men, we failed to get the win.

We now sit 10th in the table (http://s267.photobucket.com/albums/ii284/paulhartmanhardy/?action=view&current=TENTON4.jpg)

PaulHartman71
25-05-2008, 03:34
November Games

Dag & Red 4-3 Ten Ton FC
James Dunn scored another hat-trick, yet James Richardson's last minute winner made it all for nothing, but as a message I saw after the game, perhaps it wasn't all for nothing...

Dunn becomes record league goalscorer! (http://s267.photobucket.com/albums/ii284/paulhartmanhardy/?action=view&current=TENTON5.jpg)

Ten Ton FC 2-1 MK Dons
In a game not many would have predicted to go our way, James Dunn and Mark McCombe both scored, Adam Morris got a goal back, but MK Dons never really had a comeback in them.

Wrexham 2-0 Ten Ton FC
A Gary Gray own goal gave Wrexham the lead, and they finished us off in injury time through Nicholas Boyd. However we were denied a penalty , which would have given us an equaliser which could have changed the whole outcome of the game, but it was not to be.

Ten Ton FC 3-3 Macclesfield
Michael Clark gave the visitors the lead after 30 minutes, James Dunn equalised for us just before half time. Billy Barratt gave us the lead in the second half, but 2 goals in 5 minutes 20 minutes from the end gave Macclesfield the lead. However we got an injury time winner from Ross Bannon, which made sure we got a point.

We are now 14th, but the table is very tight (http://s267.photobucket.com/albums/ii284/paulhartmanhardy/?action=view&current=TENTON6.jpg)

PaulHartman71
25-05-2008, 04:54
December Games

Ebbsfleet 2-0 Ten Ton FC
The game looked bad for us from the start, within 20 minutes Stephen Roche had been sent off, and by half time we were 2-0 down. Alex had a chance to make it 3-0 from the penalty stop in the last minute of the game, but he missed.

Ten Ton 3-1 Ashton Utd - FAT 1st Round
Ross Bannon gave us the lead after 15 minutes, but the away side made it level 5 minutes later. However two second half goals from Ross Bannon and Liam Lawson gave us the match. One low however was the 161 attendance was the lowest in the history of the club.

King's Lynn 0-3 Ten Ton FC - SS 4th Round
We dominated the game, and two goals from James Dunn, and an injury time goal from Mark McCombe means progress to the next round.

Aldershot 3-1 Ten Ton FC
Aldershot dominated the game, and James Dunn's late goal proved nothing but a consulation.

Ten Ton FC 1-0 Dorchester
It was a very close game, but a 25th minute strike from James Dunn meant we ended 2013 on a high.

We now sit 15th going into the new year (http://s267.photobucket.com/albums/ii284/paulhartmanhardy/?action=view&current=TENTON6-1.jpg)
