Cycstorm
This has been a pet peeve of mine for a few years now. It seems to me that the Manager of the Month Award is consistently biased towards big teams and big name managers. Now, I feel that If I am the manager of Sunderland and I win all my games in November then I should be the manager of the month - not AVB at Chelsea, not SAF at Utd, not Mancini at MC who perhaps also won all their games. By the same token if the manager of newly promoted Doncaster Rovers or whoever wins all their games in November then they should be manager of the month ahead of me. Obviously I realize that there is context involved, such as who your opposition were and goals for and against, But it seems to me that the only way to win MOTM is for you to be the only manager to win all your games. If there are several clubs who have enjoyed a winning month then the award seems to always go to the bigger club by default, and I think that is exactly backwards. Or is it just me? johnhughthom
Nope, not just you. I ignore manager of the month these days. Strange when you consider the manager of the year award is usually pretty sensible.
