dal20
I am clueless when it comes to specs for laptops and think can anyone tell me what I need to be able to run football managerbfast thanks!!!
wild2475
In general FM seems to focus primarily on processor speed and RAM. Needs a half decent graphics card for 3D but nothing too fancy. May be a help if you put down what your budget is and maybe someone can give you indications on machines that may be applicable.
Impale
Does it have to be a laptop? You'll get more for your money with a desktop.
POMPEY657
One mans cheap, is another mans expensive. You need to say what your budget is

civilservant
I'd go for 8Gb RAM personally as a minimum these days
dal20
Apart from the ram is everything else ok as I can upgrade the ram to 8 at a later stage.
Bruun
For 500 £ you can get a lot better than that Dal20 And 8 gb RAM isn't really useful in a laptop, nothing requires 8 gb RAM yet or in the near future... But 4 gb RAM, NO onboard graphics card, preferred 1-1.5 gb dedicated graphics card.. And Intel i5-i7 processor would be an advantage too! An i5, 1 gb dedicated and 4 gigs of RAM should be possible for 500 £
mimland
If there is a particular place you looking to buy it from let people know that way they might be able to look up what is in your pricerange and recommend the best possible from there. If you are in the uk and got around 500 GBP to spend you should be able to get a laptop with an intel core i5 cpu and 4GB of RAM, that is what I got when checking pricerunner as I'm not familiar with prices in the UK. alucasa
Get at least a quad-core laptop. Or at least i3 ones, those have HT which will let you have 4 logical threads.
Bruun
Alucasa, so does I5 In fact, any Intel over AMD
alucasa
From the look of it, he is looking for an inexpensive laptop. I3 laptop with some low-end GPU would be ideal. Just don't pick one with Intel GPU and he will be fine.
dal20
The one I posted earlier that's my mates laptop which he has said I can have for £100 so will save me loads of money if it will play football manager well enough.
mimland
If you have the game why don't you try it on that computer ad see what you think, as Pompey said "one mans cheap, is another mans expensive", the same goes with game speed. What one considers fast and playable will make someone else tear their hair because it is slow.
Tim_Cdy
Does the Core 2 Duo still cut it. I am running 4Gig of paired Ram and a 9800GTM 512Mb. I am getting the game later, but will my Penryn @2.5GHz full speed, actually cope with a medium dbase at minimum?
