Smurf Posted October 26, 2011 Share Posted October 26, 2011 I signed a Striker with a nice goal bonus of €10m if they scored 30 goals that season. About half way through the season the player had scored 30 goals. I called a meeting with the player and said "Congratulations you've played very well so far this season. The Board have decided to give you your bonus now instead of waiting til the end of the season. Will you please accept this cheque for your €10m." The player was absolutely delighted and said "Thanks very much Gaffer!", lost for words, "That's very kind of the Board!" I continued not breaking my stride and ignoring his interruption, "And if you play like this for the rest of the season the chairman will sign it for you!"
