I've had that quite a few times, though have a weekly autosave as my laptop tends to have a few occasional crashing phases, and haven't lost any results yet, in fact hardly anything at all. Should be able to reload as all I need to do is start FM up again immediately, click 'load last save' and it's business as usual, minus any game time you've lost.

:(

How much did you lose? Crash dumps aren't the worst things that can happen, but I hope you haven't lost too much progress. If it becomes a regular occurence it's a bit more worrying.

San Giovanni - Campionato Sammarinese - 2021/22

League Table (http://imgur.com/TB0g9)
League Position Graph (http://imgur.com/IenlL)

This year seemed alot harder and we struggled to retain the title but in the end we managed to outclass the opposition.

Coppa Titano (http://imgur.com/VtzGD) - Started with a loss then had some high-scoring games and comfortably won the final 3-1.

European Champions Cup & EURO Cup (http://imgur.com/RV1cp) - Got all the way to the Champions Playoff before again being badly beaten by Olympiakos, which put us in the EURO Cup Group Stages against Villareal, Udinese & PSV, we finished dead last scoring 4 and conceding 30 but not doing as bad as Bohemians who scored 0 and conceded 27.

Squad (http://imgur.com/2M6Lr) - Another 4 players have left, a couple of Youth Stars now.

Finances (http://imgur.com/GkP9G) - Now £2,453,673 in the black!

Youth Players:

Raoul Belmonte (YP2) (http://imgur.com/MWMrp) - The oldest player in the squad and is a very solid, consistent player with 41 appearances, now has 48 caps.

Giovanni Cambi (YP11) (http://imgur.com/CbtAe) - 6 caps, 41 appearances aswell this year, 20 years old and still has loads of potential.

Remo Aiella (YP12) (http://imgur.com/NizLu) - A poor season by his standards 46 appearances and 21 goals, but still better than any other Sammarinese clubs strikers.

Angelo Pierra (YP13) (http://imgur.com/F95xd) - 5 appearances less than Remo, but the same amount of goals, looks better than Remo.

Fabio Bernardini (YP14) (http://imgur.com/Lii7h) - Hopefully going to be leading the back line for plenty of years if he stays at the club, amazing prospect.

Antonio Stanzione (YP15) (http://imgur.com/UweD0) - Another good striker, I don't know if he'll get many choices due too our first choice strikers being amazing..

Professionalism is not always a good thing. It will raise your expenses a lot and sometimes it will be hard to give some profit and accumulate some money.
My experience in low rep leagues is that you should wait till you get a decent income to go pro.

League Table (http://imgur.com/5PIFj)
League Position Graph (http://imgur.com/HFS3z)

Back to normality, a much easier season and I think that 2.0 me is better than the old me.

Coppa Titano (http://imgur.com/JImtY) - Easy, 3-0 Quarter Final, 6-1 Semi Final, 3-0 Final, I owuld let the U19's play it but I want to win as much silverware as I can.

European Champions Cup & EURO Cup - No screenshot for this, it messed up but the results were Qarabag Agdam 2 - 4 San Giovanni, CSKA (Sofia) 5 - 1 San Giovanni.

Squad (http://imgur.com/3ZBQQ) - Got rid of a few more, got a good core of players now.

Finances (http://imgur.com/U8ytR) - £1.6m in the black, all is well in the San Giovanni bank.

Youth Players:

Raoul Belmonte (YP2) (http://imgur.com/5vbeX) - Another year, more consistency, mentals are getting better and he now has 55 caps and is the most capped person on the international team.

Giovanni Cambi (YP11) (http://imgur.com/Rjmvh) - Doesn't look as good as I once thought but he has 15 caps and still made 28 appearances.

Remo Aielli (YP12) (http://imgur.com/D3qvQ) - 20 years old, 9 caps, 37 appearances, 27 goals and 14 assists with a 7.54 average rating. wow.

Angello Perra (YP13) (http://imgur.com/Q13g6) - 19 years old, 5 caps, 36 appearances, 27 goals and 20 assists with a 7.84 average rating!! even better!!

Fabio Bernardini (YP14) (http://imgur.com/XSNSD) - Decided to choose Italy as his first nationality after playing for the Italian U19's, just shows how great he is.

Antonio Stanzione (YP15) (http://imgur.com/JTcfJ) - He got his chances, and hist first cap! 10 goals and 13 assists, a good season for someone who is 3rd choice.

Antonello Carraro (YP16) (http://imgur.com/RM6my) - The new boy, only "generated" in March and already has a Youth Cap to his name, looks very very good.

If he had gotten 5 stars CA I'd have said he's easily the best player you have had come through so far, his stats are brilliantly distributed. The great cup win also shows how much your team has improved.

On another note, are there any superstars in the San Marino national team, perhaps produced by Italian clubs?

League Table (http://imgur.com/MrULT)
League Position Graph (http://imgur.com/CwoN0)

Almost perfect now, the new youths are very strong together, and there's great harmony.

Coppa Titano (http://imgur.com/3z5LQ) - Easy again, we went on a scoring spree in the latter stages too!

European Champions Cup (http://imgur.com/RdIxg) - Poor this year losing 7 - 3 to Red Star Belgrade at the first hurdle.

Squad (http://imgur.com/E0XX9) - Could do with a few more good defenders, along with alot less central defenders.

Finances (http://imgur.com/5HRrM) - £2.4m in the black, amazing without the European challenge this year

Youth Players:

Raoul Belmonte (YP2) (http://imgur.com/0YOcm) - More from Mr. Consistent, another 32 appearances and should be pretty much hitting his peak anytime now so I expect him to start falling down the pecking order in a couple of years.

Giovanni Cambi (YP11) (http://imgur.com/Qmc21) - Mainly appeared as a sub, a bench warmer now, may only be here for a couple more years before I let him go.

Remo Aiella (YP12) (http://imgur.com/ZLrFh) - Still improving, 37 appearances, 27 goals and 10 assists still wow.

Angello Perra (YP13) (http://imgur.com/BP7rl) - Was pushed into a defensive midfield position this year because of 1 strikers ability to score. Angello still got 10 goals and 16 assists.

Fernando Bernardini (YP14) (http://imgur.com/Xmh0B) - Made even more appearances for Italy U19's but I don't know it doesn't show up. heart and rock of our defence at age 18.

Antonio Stanzione (YP15) (http://imgur.com/5WdQ2) - Took Angello's striker spot and scored 33 goals in 37 appearances with 7 assists and 11 MoM awards!

Antonello Carraro (YP16) (http://imgur.com/4FS01) - Didn't actually play in the first team but over the Pre-Season I'm going to re-train him as a Right Winger to try and get him some game time next season.

Antonio Costanzo (YP17) (http://imgur.com/V9AKP) - Looks very good, should get game time next season, might try re-training him to another position.

Two things I'm wondering about:

In early screenshots Perra was called Angelo, but now he has two L's in Angelo, making Angello, which isn't an Italian name and sounds a bit weird. Would you correct that for me in his nickname? :)

The other thing concerns your Italian youth international, Fabio Bernardini. How come he still has an amateur contract, or at least no wage?

I've corrected it, and I actually hadn't noticed he was still amateur, but most of my squad is amateur, I'll offer him and any other (YP) a Part Time contract if I haven't ;)

Good, you wouldn't want any others getting away after what happened with some of your early YP's. Especially Bernardini, who has made some incredible improvements in just two years. Hopefully he sees sense and decides to play for the San Marino national team. ;)

Which brings me onto another thing I've just thought about: do you worry that when your youth players start becoming good, you'll see a lot more of them decide to play for Italy and not San Marino? I ask this since most of your good YP's have Italy as second nationality (apart from Stanzione and a couple of good ones who didn't get the (YP) tag) and Bernardini has already played for Italy's youth teams.

I'm hoping that some of the YP's will be able to drag San Marino up the Country Rankings which will hopefully encourage more players with dual nationality to play for San Marino. also some Italians with dual nationality are now playing for San Marino too.

San Giovanni - Campionato Sammarinese - 2024/25

League Table (http://imgur.com/NxU5L)
League Position Graph (http://imgur.com/EEsxA)

So close to an unbeaten season, shows how good we are now compared to other Sammarinese teams.

Coppa Titano (http://imgur.com/4qMcy) - Couldn't get unbeaten in this either, but atleast we beat Faetano 8 - 1.

European Champions Cup (http://imgur.com/URnMt) - Again drawn against a much bigger team but we came so close to beating then, we lost 4-3 on agg.

Squad (http://imgur.com/D09s5) - Our squads getting better and more experienced now but the average age is still only 20!

Finances (http://imgur.com/KJJiw) - Very almost £4,000,000 in the bank, and £3,200,000 is going into upgrading the Youth Facilities.

Youth Players:

Raoul Belmonte (YP2) (http://imgur.com/SuNDM) - 35 appearances this year, 5 years older than the next oldest player on the team, also 69 caps, joint highest in San Marino records with Damiano Vannucci.

Remo Aielli (YP12) (http://imgur.com/Gim19) - 30 goals and 16 assists even though a couple of his attributes dropped at the end, amazing season.

Angelo Perra (YP13) (http://imgur.com/3SMIV) - 16 goals and 16 assists, another great season, and he's somehow worth £170,000?!?

Fabio Bernardini (YP14) (http://imgur.com/DrYeg) - GREAT! he's been fully capped for San Marino! also managed to score 12 goals this season.

Antonio Stanzione (YP15) (http://imgur.com/UxXzn) - 15 goals and 15 assists, pretty solid if you ask me.

Antonello Carraro (YP16) (http://imgur.com/7NvoI) - Will definetly get more opportunities next season, look at his stats!

Antonio Costanzo (YP17) (http://imgur.com/Kb1ck) - Left him in the U18's to see if he would improve, and well, he has.

Michele Centofanti (YP18) (http://imgur.com/KTpHh) - Not so sure about this one, being re-trained as a winger but he is lightning fast.

Isn't that a bit racist noikeee? I for one, believe that talent can be found everywhere, but the reason we don't get good players from San Marino is because they don't train them well enough etc.

Turkey used to be a footballing country like San Marino, always conceding 5 or more goals, celebrating draws.. But today, we are a respected footballing nation with a number of quality players, shared with Germany of course. But the main reason behind that is Jupp Derwall's work on youth system and training system/facilities in Turkey. After his reign et Galatasaray, Turkish football rised really fast so a visionary manager, with the help of supportive directors, can do amazing stuff in the smallest footballing countries, only to make them bigger and better

This is very true - and even though San Marino is a tiny country, you could compare this with New Zealand in rugby - if it's all kids play (and that would be the case if they started to see their legendary players making it into europe etc), then you'll get good players - and with good investment, comes the chance to make them better! They might also be dragged in from italy, who knows!

No. Be careful with that word.

At worst it's xenophobic, and really it's not that either. He's not saying they ought to be rubbish because they're San Marinese.

It's realism. San Marino is a tiny province, no bigger than a city. You just wouldn't see the same response as in Turkey to the improved infrastructure and coaching, because there's not enough of a population for classy footballers to come through year on year. Maybe once, twice or thrice in a generation but no more. Regardless of funding.

Racist. :D

Turkey has 70 million people. San Marino has 30 thousand. That's 0,004% of the turkish population. Even if every single person in San Marino plays football and they are given world class training and facilities to do so, it's extremely unlikely they'd ever be able to produce a full team of top players. A freak player can show up from anywhere indeed - I live in an island with a population of 250 thousand and we have produced one of the world's current top 3 players (Cristiano Ronaldo). But the chances of it happening in such a small population sample are tiny. To produce consistent top talent over the years in an area like San Marino is pretty much impossible.

Of course it's not all about the sheer weight of numbers otherwise China would be the best side in every single sport, but the potential should be there if worked right. Indeed, that is what has happened in Turkey over the years - you do realize Turkey's hardly a tiny country as it has more population than most of the countries that have gone to win World Cups?

I'm not trying to reduce Makoto's achievements which have been class, he obviously tries to do his best as every player does, and it has resulted in an highly entertaining thread. I'm just saying that the players produced are unrealistic, something's messed up somewhere, be it FM's current model of simulating generated youngsters or the league add-on he's using.

It seems to work as expected - the excellent junion coaching is obviously what you'd expect from high prem teams - and the effort and finances have gone in to do that - however perhaps FM should introduce a feature by which the excellence of the facilities is proportionate to the standard of competition - i.e. if you compete in a 2 * competition, your facilities might be excellent, but they might just be average in a 4* competition.

But at the end of the day, FM is only a game. I don't think managing in San Marino would be fun if all the players had 1s in every attribute. Makoto isn't getting World Class players in every bloody intake, just players enough to slowly improve in Europe.

Well then perhaps it could be based on the nation, not the competition? Or it could even take population into consideration as well.

On a separate note, I think we need to concentrate back on the story here - there's plenty of forums for discussions about this.

Or it could just stay the way it is which works in a very simple way everyone can grasp and is in no way strange. Why would it take any of that into consideration? If youth facilities are state of the art. They're going to be state of the art compared to every other youth facilty in the world.

Regardless. I will agree with people stating that youth coaching might work a bit too well.

But at the end of the day, FM is only a game. I don't think managing in San Marino would be fun if all the players had 1s in every attribute. Makoto isn't getting World Class players in every bloody intake, just players enough to slowly improve in Europe.

FM deviates from reality and isn't realistic the second you press 'continue'. Just have fun and enjoy the progress made in this thread mate.

San Giovanni - Campionato Sammarinese - 2024/25

League Table (http://imgur.com/OSbJl)
League Positions Graph (http://imgur.com/0N8za)

Some of the other Sammarinese teams look to be improving as Murata almost managed to keep up with us but we still ended up winning by 5 points. We also got £668,000 for winning the league.

Coppa Titano (http://imgur.com/3tcpH) - It was a lot harder than last year as we needed penalties to win the Semi-Final and the Final against Juvenes-Dogana.

European Champions Cup & EURO Cup (http://imgur.com/C0pOY) - Managed to scrape past Debrecen & Sheriff before our luck ran out against Dinamo, we lost all of our EURO Cup quite badly but it was more of a learn from the experience and rake in the money than us actually trying to contend,

Squad (http://imgur.com/bo4Wy) - Got rid of another 9 players, all of which came up from the Youth Team last year.

Finances (http://imgur.com/IbaxP) - £5,075,840 in the black but £3,500,000 is being spent on improving our "Adequate" Training Facilities.

Youth Players:

Raoul Belmonte (YP2) (http://imgur.com/DobFt) - Only made 27 appearances this year in his 14th year at the club, and well, he can't really keep up the standards of the rest of the club, he is severely loyal and I'm going to keep him until he retires, even if he doesn't play, I WANT him to see a Champions League Group Stage game if I can.

Remo Aielli (YP12) (http://imgur.com/BTtSs) - 47 appearances, 27 goals and 11 assists, he's scored 100 league goals in 149 league appearances!

Angelo Perra (YP13) (http://imgur.com/7p0WB) - Another 46 appearances, 17 goals, 17 assists, In 129 appearances he has 64 goals, 63 assists and an average rating of 7.50

Fabio Bernardini (YP14) (http://imgur.com/7sT08) - 47 appearances, he's valued at £110,000 also managed to get 12 goals this year.

Antonio Stanzione (YP15) (http://imgur.com/GOKvl) - 40 appearances, even though 18 of them were as a sub, didn't make too much of an impact this season.

Antonello Carraro (YP16) (http://imgur.com/FZ6NI) - Not many appearances, going to try and test a new tactic that can fit in some Center Midfielders/ Attacking Center Midfielders.

Antonio Costanzo (YP17) (http://imgur.com/3ovy2) - 23 appearances 3 goals and 8 assists, chosen Italy as his first nationality, will have too see if he gets a Sammarinese cap.

Michele Centofanti (YP18 (http://imgur.com/IySSI) - Mainly used as a sub thanks to his very low Natural Fitness but didn't do anything special.

Boris Oddo (YP19) (http://imgur.com/2CdLS) - I like him just from his name, I mean "Boris Oddo" makes me think of odd Boris Johnson but that's just me. Looks very good from his stats as a 15 year old as well!

Boris Oddo looks like another great player, does he happen to have a second nationality as that name sounds weird for a sanmarinese?

Making progress in Europe, it may seem a slow progress so far and having difficult draws, but by going through those earlier stages you're already winning coefficient points for your team so maybe a few years from now you'll be seeded and avoid those difficult opponents.

Oddo is pure Sammarinese so I guess it's just Odd-o. : pardon the pun:

We ended up losing 7 - 1 to Spartak Moscow and for the first time since I've started we've made a profit selling off players, we've made £175,000 so far and might get another 1 or 2 out.

Also looking at the World Rankings since San Marino are now 190th, it seems odd that Madagascar are currently in 14th and only have one player who is awful and Finland are currently in 197th and have been as low as 202nd.

San Giovanni - Campionato Sammarinese - 2026/27

League Table (http://imgur.com/QaIud)
League Positions Graph (http://imgur.com/7LmqR)

The position graph shows everything, we thrashed pretty much everyone as seen with our League Fixtures (http://imgur.com/OAU8v)

Coppa Titano (http://imgur.com/0Thc8) - Easy Group stages followed by 3 2-0 wins in the Quarter Finals, Semis and Final.

European Champions Cup & EURO Cup (http://imgur.com/Rptwl) - Beat Zalgiris 6-3 before losing to FC Kobenhavn 4-1 and being thrashed 7-1 by Spartak Moscow.

Squad (http://imgur.com/ZpfoR) - Got rid of a few for a total of £155,000. Could do with a decent backup keeper though.

Finances (http://imgur.com/XbBqF) - Lost £3,500,000 for upgrading the Training Facilities but still £2,500,000 in the black now.

Youth Players:

Raoul Belmonte (YP2) (http://imgur.com/Ziz9J) - He's now 30 years old, but he's back to his best making 40 appearances this year and still had an average rating of 7.01

Remo Aielli (YP12) (http://imgur.com/FUlEL) - Another great season, 39 appearances and 28 goals, average rating of 7.49 if only he was this good internationally.

Angelo Perra (YP13) (http://imgur.com/S83k8) - Now the assist man, 18 goals and 23 assists and 7 international goals, he's just getting faster.

Fabio Bernardini (YP14) (http://imgur.com/4ay3t) - The rock and heart of our defence at age 21, worth £210,000 and an average rating of 7.56.

Antonio Stanzione (YP15) (http://imgur.com/NosHw) - Too me he doesn't look to good but he manages to outplay his stats with 26 goals and 12 assists!

Antonello Carraro (YP16) (http://imgur.com/QqbFq) - Got first team action and managed too get a few decent assists in.

Antonio Costanzo (YP17) (http://imgur.com/Y7TC5) - Worryingly still playing in Italy U19's but hopefully once he's too old for them he'll get capped by San Marino.

Michele Centofanti (YP18) (http://imgur.com/GC2OP) - Still used as a sub but his speed got him a couple of good goals.

Boris Oddo (YP19) (http://imgur.com/DMOVa) - Only made 1 appearance this year and that was as a sub.

Having pro players will change a lot your results.
Maybe next year you will get a place on Europa League after the champions group.

Does FM take into account the seeds as well? If so, you should be seeded better for the qualifiers too???

I think so, the soonest the seeds will be boosted/ we get more teams into Europe will be the season after next so the 2029/30 season.

Just something brief too show how we do in the fixtures so you guys can see more of the career, we had a brief blip of form at the beginning but that was during the Champions Playoff & Champions League 1st Group games, we've hit form and are scoring for fun again now that fixtures are more spread out.

Pasquale should be first team in the next couple of years, we're weak in his position so he is much needed :D

Absolutely brilliant! You've already inspired me to do something similar for FM13! :D

There isn't anything you can say about it! We should create a new word to describe your progress!

Only just catched up on the Champions League progress, very well done there. This is surely a huge breakthrough for the club, not just in terms of the achievement it is, but also in terms of finances, reputation and European coefficient points.

EPIC! Been following IK Tord thread and have been loving it, now I'm craving an update for this lol!

Fair play mate, inspired me to start a game in san marino using youth only when i get home, currently going along nicely as
newcastle, sticking to the tight-fisted mindset that M**e A****y has imposed on us and is going well.

This is - and i'll say it again - EPIC though lol, hope i have as much success as you!

That's the best thing about the fat man! I'd have Cabaye/Tiote/Ba over another Owen or Luque 100 times over.

Shame about the rest of it...

Haha good luck on creating a new word. It's a hell of a lot of fun...as long as you have the patience of a saint to go with it!

Yea, it will be interesting over the next 2 years too see if anything changes and hopefully get another club into Europe.

Thanks Sir Jake, hope you have fun! It starts off hard but the league gets easier the further into the save you get.
