Football Manager 2012 - Youth Candidates

With the adjustment of how youth players are introduced in FM 2012. I thought it was only fair to create a thread to see peoples reactions to the new game feature and also how good these Youth Candidates are whenthey come to your club.

I've just had my 1st intake and they say this player is possibly one of the best players of his generation. Don't see it though, pretty average in my view. But will offer him a youth deal and play him in the reserves

This is how a Youth Candidates vs Club Under 18's practice match is like. As you can see, no crowd. In the future, I would like to see atleast some people there as there would be some there in real life if this was to happen

also, bought this issue up before... there will be noone at intra-squad friendlies, as otherwise LLM players would just abuse it (or doesn't happen IRL)

The guy has amazing determination, meaning that he has one of the key tools to massively develop and come close to his PA.

Could you please tell me about how many players you were offered and how many were rated as good enough for your first squad in the future? I'm still waiting (hoping, wishing, praying) for the game to arrive.

After the intra-club match, my assistant suggested 7 out of the 16 originally that arrived at my training ground. I ended up keeping 4 that I felt needed reserves for however long it takes before I decide if I want to put them in the 1st team. The Youth intake came in March 12th for my Liverpool

That first player is clearly very talented for a 15 year-old; and that game shouldn't have a crowd - it's a behind closed doors friendly.

The lack of a crowd at the Youth Intake match doesn't surprise me. I would expect that in reality games like that would be played behind closed doors. If you allowed crowds in then you would put money on there being scouts from other clubs there looking to poach any youngsters that show themselves to have potential.

Got mine in March as well for Inter. Think about 8 were recommended to me but I only took 3. Was only going to take 1 but figured I could sell the other 2 and make some profit in few years. Plan on keeping the first. Highest Potential star rating was 3.5.

About 16 players for Juventus, my assistant manager wanted to keep them all, only kept the 3 best rated ones.

Have enough useless youngsters already.

It's nice you can pick who you get to choose though, no more clogging of the youth team.

just a question those youth intake player that u did not sign will they remain in the database and try to find other clubs(free agent)? or they will disappear?
