Zoetermeer
When you start a new game, you are given a transfer and wage budget. Many of us know by now that those budgets are ridicolously high and, if we max out those budgets, our club will be operating at a loss (for most clubs anyway). So the goal is to not overspend -- but how do we know, in the first transfer window of the first year on the job, what we can expect the club to be earning each month? It'd be great if we could get some kind of revenue projection from the board to help us be financially responsible with our budgets (since they aren't responsible enough to give us realistic ones). TioPatinhax
good point here. Also, correct me if im wrong, there are no repercussions when our club goes into the red on the bank account (like points deductions, players leaving for free because they arent getting payed, etc)? That happens if the club goes into administration, not just into the red. If it were, 17 Premier League clubs with Man United and Man City at the forefront would be in administration by now! Zoetermeer
So maybe the real question is why the board gives us such ridiculous budgets? I thought the whole point of a transfer budget/wage budget was to give the manager a reasonable amount of money that can be spent without jeopardizing the club's financial state. The amount of money they give you shouldn't just be based on the club's current balance.

Yes, i was referring to clubs that go into Admnistration, has it ever happened in FM either to human or AI clubs? With the natural consequences, loss of points, players leaving for free, etc etc
Mafino
Yeah it doesn't make sense that if you are 5% under your budgets you lose money? Good idea though for a projected revenue
ATW
Yeah it doesn't make sense that if you are 5% under your budgets you lose money? Good idea though for a projected revenue Why doesn't it? There is more to a club budget that Transfers and Wages. Projected revenue would be good, but it would need to be variable and change over time.
