Steam Question

Hi guys,

Could someone please help me on the following poiunts?

1) if i buy game off steam, can i play even when i have no internet connection?

2) i know that with steam it patches the game itself automatically, does this do it in offline mode too?

3) what are the differences with the game between buying it off steam and disc copy if any?

1) Yes you can, you will need internet firstly though to authorise and activate the game.

2) No, you would need to do it with it being online.

3) None.

1) Yes, it'll ask if you would like to run it in offline mode if it can't connect.

2) I don't think it does, no. But when there is a new patch you could try and switch back to online mode and it should do then.

3) Not alot really.

Once you authenticate the game with Steam while online - you can switch to offline mode

To update you need to internet and to be in online mode

If you buy a disc copy you have a pretty box, plus you don't have to rely on download over a slow connection or anything - or if you have a limit on your download capped by your internet provider. But you still need the internet to authenticate the copy of the game. But switch to offline mode afterwards if you want.
