Transfer offer question

I have £5M. Am I able to make an offer for a player of 1.5M upfront, then say £5 over 12 months? My way of thinking was that over the 12 months I would have more money coming in, enabling the transfer to go through....?

or does the offer need to be covered financially at the time that it is made?

well the way you put it, you would still spend 6.5m in the transfer budget. you could do it over 24 months and you would only pay 4m (1.5m upfront + 5m over 2 years, so 2.5m per year = 1.5m + 2.5m) from the current transfer budget

so even if i dont have the full budget available, i could still make an offer of an amount higher (e.g. £9m in installments over 24 months) than my available budget (£5m) as im not spending it all at once....correct?

Pretty much. For payment over 24 months, you need to have half in your available budget. For 36 months, have a third available etc.

But you have to be carefull, when using the monthly instalment payments, i.e. don't sign loads of players on them because it can financially cripple your team.

Also try and sell your players for cash up front rather than over a period. That way your club has ready cash available.

ive only just got round to putting players up for sale, and even then they are only worth about 50k each so its not much...
