FestyF
Just want to know how many of you have played with 'Stand-off' (or low closing down/low pressing) approach. What kind of players are required for this sort of approach and what strategy, tackling and marking system you use with it? (obviously zonal marking makes sense with this but still..) milnerpoint
I use this when trying to close out a tight game if i am leading, set players to stand off, stay on feet and sit them deep, basically defend the 18 yard box and stay in shape the whole time. robertcornell68
As Milnerpoint said, combined with defensive tactics - especially deep defence - it's a lethal time killer.
demonen
Deep defensive line, two banks of four (or 4-1-4-1), low pressing and low creative freedom is a good "parking the bus" strategy. Useful if you are a massive underdog or just trying to kill time.

This is when its at its best, not from the start unless you plan a 0-0 draw
hater
I find it does ok with counter attack too, direct/long passing, quick front men, (as long as your team are good enought to handle the constant barage) As you want to invite as much of the opponent as you can on you to have a succesful counter style.
