Set your overall strategy to standard or control (and counter I think) and anyone on automatic will be given a support role. When at auto it changes automatic between defend, support or attack when you change the philosophy of your tactic. So if you choose defensive strategy, the player gets a defend role. If you choose standard at strategy, it gets support if i don't remember wrong. Choose offensive and it will be attacking role. Is this understandably then?
