johnmcgrath86
Is the Japanese League likely to be included in FM2012? theres some good Japanese players but it never seems to be included in any FM game
nick1408
No. J.League is licensed to another mob. It isn't just the Japanese players thta we miss out on, some key Australian players (Josh Kennedy, Alex Brosque) play in Japan so when managing as Australia or in the A-League where you need a squad made up mostly of Australian players you miss out on some real quality. It is unfortunate it is this way but I don't think it will ever change. It would be nice if the players were available but the teams not.
SWaRFeGa
Konami have the licensing rights for Japan. A very important one for them!
Guest
The annoying thing about this is that Konami & SI have worked together in the past, IIRC SI have provided player data for PES & Konami helped with FM's 3D match display. Their respective products are not directly competing so I have never seen why the two publishers cannot come to an agreement.
CrD
Konami want the J-league all to themselves because that is where they are based, I mean if I had a local gaming company near me that had worldwide reputation I would think it was strange that they wouldn't be allowed to have EPL at least! Correctamundo. I believe Konami pay a hefty sum for the Japanese license. It's pretty much the only one they own. A prestige, if you like.
CaptainBanana
Konami/Pro Evolution Soccer have the licensing rights for Japan. A very important one for them! Krald
I think they're kinda kicking themselves in the teeth having exclusivity deals, they could expose their league* national team to a far bigger fan-base if it was more accessible in FM and other media. I know I've become a fan of football teams/leagues because of FM at times.
duduric
I wouldn't mind if they just aren't included... But SI crippled the japanese league so we can't even mod it in

duduric
Yet for some reason they dont include it in the Pro Evo games? Yea people complain about this every year... A waste IMO.
Jack Rudd
Someone will probably produce a Japanese League Players database soon. They usually do.
SWaRFeGa
Yet for some reason they dont include it in the Pro Evo games? Not in Pro Evo, no. They have had standalone PS2 games in the past: J-League Winning Eleven.
milnerpoint
Not in Pro Evo, no.They have had standalone PS2 games in the past: J-League Winning Eleven. yeah i thought they only released J-League Winning Eleven over there and they only use their license for that game. nick1408
Don't they show up if you choose 'Players Of Nationality' (Australia) in a custom database? No, because they are owned by Japanese clubs. Only loanees are real players at Japanese clubs
pigfacemonkeyman
No, because they are owned by Japanese clubs. Only loanees are real players at Japanese clubs Then surely that custom feature doesn't do what it is supposed to? Who owns or loans a player has no bearing on his Nationality. milnerpoint
Its more a case of they are not in the database full stop.
rancer890
Only players not contracted to Japanese clubs but are on loan to them are in the DB. It doesn't matter what nationality the player is, if he is contracted to a Japanese club he isn't in the DB.
