samsimcox
I'm a long time player but never been in the forums before. I was just wondering though how accurate the wage bills obtained by SI are. I am currently doing my dissertation on spectator demand for the Premier League for the 2010-11 season. One of the variables I am using for my regression analysis is the total wage bill of the squads in each match and am struggling to find this data. I was wondering if anyone knows if SI get the actual data from clubs or if its based on an estimate and how they come up with this estimate? Any help or a point in the right direction (someone to ask or somewhere with these stats if anyone knows) would be immensely appreciated! Thanks in advance guys! underwater sunlight
i don't think the information is 100% accurate as a lot of information is not made public.
Smurf
You might find some info here http://www.deloitte.com/view/en_BG/bg/industries/financial-services/fb3303082e10e110VgnVCM100000ba42f00aRCRD.htm As players wages aren't usually released, you might get an overall figure for clubs or the premiership in general if you dig around. Menion
You're best bet is to contact a club directly. They would not give you a breakdown in wages but they could give you a total wage bill (which will include all staff, not just footballers). I suggest writing to them in the first instance. grep
The world has no ethic rules, Eto'o now earns 20 millions of euros per year + 15 millions per year from sponsorizations.
