Basically my current laptop an acer aspire 5536 is dying on me with football manager 2011 with a couple of months left before the new game it makes perfect sense to get a new one.

I would say my budget is like 800-1000 and the only thing I use it for is fm and I put in serious hours so a good one that should last for a few years would be sweet! Any advice would be welcomed.

Thankyou

Also if this is the wrong section sorry :/

to be honest if you only use it for fm then you dont need to spend 800-1000

Fair enough but as I say I really wouldn't know where to put my money so can you recommend something which would be up to large database multiple leagues sorta game?

just an average 400-500 computer, with around 4GB ram good processors and a nice size screen is always good

I would suggest going to pcspecialist.co.uk and making your own custom one, that's what I did and saved 000s on what I could have got similar at PC *rip off* World.

I would suggest a fast processor and dedicated graphics card, I know people will say you dont need one for just FM, but I have one now, and the 3d game is much much better, oh and 4G of RAM, you could get more, but it won't be utilised at present, but you never know if it will in a few years.

You could always use the forum search fuinction to find the numerous threads on this subject, it tends to get asked quite often at this time of year.

The intergrated graphics processing on teh 2nd generation Intel i series CPU's will easily deal with the 3D in FM.

There is good info here; http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/229226-FM-2011-Official-System-Specs-Thread/page19
and may be a good place to ask.

Here- http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/packard-bell-imedia-d3527-desktop-pc-10452203-pdt.html

Perfect for FM, although if you want to play on high end graphics on the game I suggest a better GFX card.

I have that PC and I am planning on upgrading the GFX :)

For that kinda cash - I suggest you go for the i5 processor range and you can't really beat a decent screen size

They would be my recommendations. Where the 2nd one in the links there is my favourite.

That RC720 laptop should last you a fair few years.

For a £200 saving on the Samsung you wouldn't go too far wrong with this;

Yeh but that's a 15 inch screen and doesn't give much details on the graphics card.

Yeh it's cheaper, but not as good, imo.

A girlfriend tells me not to worry about being 2 inches shorter :D, as for graphics it russ on the i5 intergarted gfx which is more than adequate if the OP only plans too use the laptop for FM & general web/office use. No sense in spending money on items that are not needed when the £150 spent on a dedicated graphics card can be spent down the pub.

Just going by the OPs budget. As always.

Get a Mac. Windows is extremely frustrating and get's slow after a year.

Get a Mac.

Yes you can buy Macs too.

Windows is extremely frustrating and get's slow after a year.

It's not true that Windows slows down after a year. That's just crap. And misinformation.
