Graphics card updated while Steam was active - Now FM wont load

Recommended Posts

While playing FM my laptop installed an update to my graphics card causing the game to stop working and me having to shut down the laptop. Now when I try to launch FM I get the error message 'Error: Cannot run game: Failed to set up graphics system'.

I read in the FM11 FAQ thread a warning not to update anything while steam is active. How can I now undo the damage done?

Many thanks in advance for your help

You may need to reinstall it from Steam that should theoretically fix any issues. And you will not lose your saves. I am presuming you downloaded the game from Steam? If not maybe still uninstall then reinstall.

Good Luck :)

I'd just run the installer for the latest graphics card driver again, without anything else running, then reboot. Something likely failed to update properly as it was in use while the game was open.
