ReggaeBwoy
I am currently stuck as to what team I want to be. Can people give me the pros and cons of being Valencia or Barca and give me reasons as to why I should take up one of them to manage?
FMtillidie
Valencia more of a challenge
StevoRobbo
What team should I be thread in GPTG.
markyosullivan
Valencia would be more of a challenge.
chob
I'd defo choose Valencia, Barca is too easy.
Menion
Depends entirely on what you want to do. Barcelona: World class team Good coaching staff/scouts good youngsters After the first season they have a lot of money Valencia: Good team - solid in most players Some very good youngsters A challenge to overcome Real and Barca Relatively poor for a top side
Roberius
Manage Barcelona & fail to win anything you're out. So it's still a challenge.
Stampler
go for malaga !
Menion
Manage Barcelona & fail to win anything you're out. So it's still a challenge. It's not really a challenge to do something that is expected.
TimHardy
If I had to choose between the two it'd be Valencia. Far more of a challenge, as you're a team with relatively high expectations yet little by way of finance :-)
SI Staff Jamie King Posted July 13, 2011 SI Staff Share Posted July 13, 2011 Yep, I've just finished a season with Valencia and it although it was fairly simple to get 3rd place - financially it was very tough. I'm currently in debt at the moment - so looking to sell a shed load of players this summer. P.S: If you do choose Valencia - do everything in your power to keep Mata - amazing player. cms186
valencia are a great challenge, theres a lot of dead wood to flog off, i went with a small squad the first season, but its paying dividends now, and after the first 2-3 seasons, you get more financial freedom, with one of the debts being paid off and the new stadium being built
412gt
If your looking for instant success then Barcelona are definitely your team. Unless you gave yourself restrictions to abide by or implemented goals within the game to achieve then I guess you'd last a season and get bored. ReggaeBwoy
Judging by what people said, Valencia seem the more attractive team to be for me. Regarding Mata, he does look very good, do you reckon anyone would ever meet his £52m release clause as this does bother me so maybe worth giving him a higher relase clause. Regarding Malaga, sound attractive but not as rich in this patch as they are irl.
cms186
noone has ever met Matas release clause for me
ReggaeBwoy
I just realised, I could use the bug and not even give him a minumum fee release clause at all
dannyxx20
go for malaga ! yeah, i second this! they look like an interesting set of players to manage, should be solid defensively anyway
jackripper
used to love playing as Valencia when they had silva and Villa. So deadly.
deltablue
Valencia to start with I think.
ReggaeBwoy
Sounds like Valencia then, but tbh they still have their share of exciting players!
Prodigy
I'd definitely go for Valencia mate. They have the potential to finish in the top 3, which makes it all the more motivational.
ReggaeBwoy
Thanks for feedback! Anyone playing with a current Malaga save?
