Can a National managing position hinder new job opportunitys ?

Hey everyone!

Got a little problem, I'm done whit my second season as Napoli manager. And I now want to manage a "big" team, whit a higher reputation.

I've won the serie A both season, finished runner-up in the EURO cup, and gone on to win the champions league in the second season.

I decided to take charge over the Italy national team. But then a position opened up at Barcelona, and later also at Chelsea. Which I both applyed for a job at. Both unsuccessfull.

Am I rejected cuz that I'm also managing a national team? Or is it just that simple that I don't merit a place as a manager for these teams..?
