Very mixed start at a new club

I was Roma Boss for 3 years, winning the league each year, the Italian Cup each year, and finally getting the CL trophy in the 3rd year, before agreeing to take the recently vacated Real Madrid job at the end of the season(Mourinho lost it when I beat him in the semi's). Took them over, they'd finished 4th last season, so trimmed the squad down, brought in young players to re-shape the team. Beat Barca in the Spanish 2 legged cup thing(Barca had knocked me out of the CL the first two attempts with Roma), but then proceeded to get taken apart by Palermo and failed to even qualify for the group stages. I'm actually surprised I'm still in a job, I think if I failed to qualify in real life with Real, I'd be sacked immediately!

Anyone else had some very mixed starts to new management?
