Baptista_8
Is it too much? Example, I was manager of Spain, a regen forward scored 22 goals in La Liga (top scorer for that season I believe) just before the 2018 World Cup. I called him up for the World Cup, gave him his first few Caps. I resigned after the World Cup, and so far this season he has been just as prolific, netting 5 in 3 so far in La Liga. His PA is 150-something. Guardiola however, doesn't call him up at all for Spain, given his form, surely this should be questionned? Also, Paco Alcacer was a regular under me, hitting something like 34 goals in 34 Caps, Spain's main man. His PA is around the 165 mark, CA is a bit lower. Guardiola takes over and Alcacer gets called up, but doesn't even make it amongst the subs bench for the next few national games. Surely this should also be questionned, given for the last 2-3 years he's been Spain's top marksman.

SCIAG
The AI places no direct importance on form or attributes. It just tries to replicate judging them using reputation and ability.
athos
Guardiola bought Ibrahimovic for 50 million + Eto to play for one season. Don't ever question his decision.
