Favoured Personel, Icons and Legends

Playing a long term save and have become one of the clubs icons, the current club captain has become a legend at the age of 23 (played in every league for them having one promotion from each one - currently in the championship).

I also had throughout this time (especially in the lower leagues) a number of players that made the favoured personel list. Unfortunately they were purely lower league players and with each promotion they looked more and more suspect. Naturally I moved them on and they disappeared from the favoured personnel list. Does this happen to Legends and Icons aswell or do these players remain on these lists for as long as the game continues?

Lucio has been an icon for my City team, despite leaving 5 years ago. So my guess is icon and legend stay that way.
