older versions of football manager

is it bad sad or plain stupid to start playing older versions of FM and keep it upto date with todays teams and transfers instead of playing latest game because i dont really like past two years games

Plenty of people still play older versions. Of course it's not 'sad or plain stupid'. Do what you enjoy most - you don't have to play a game just because it's the newest.

If you play the game for long enough, you eventually start playing the game, rather than the database. That is when you can really decide how good the game is.
