DaggerMark
I've got a problem where I can't even offer a new contract to a youth player. He's very highly rated and I understand that he will leave for free if I don't offer him a contract of higher or equivalent value of his existing deal. However, because he refuses to even discuss terms, I can't offer him anything! Surely this isn't right? Apologies if this has been covered before, couldn't find in search. Can anybody help? Bababui
Did you have him walk out on negotiations earlier?
Ackter
What are his reasons for refusing?
DaggerMark
I haven't offered him a new deal since he joined me 2 years ago. Admittedly it was a bit silly to let his contract run down but still... He just says "I'm not interested in entering contract discussions with your club". Ackter
Then you're going to lose him. Nothing you can do.
DaggerMark
When he wins his first England cap I'll just sit here bitterly saying "I made him the player he is..." :-P
