Help?

I don't know if I should post here but this is the first time on the site. Anyways I installed FM through Steam on our family computer which is a vista(as my laptop is broke). Now it installed perfectly and was ready to play but when I clicked play it said Installing Microsoft Direct X which I think I've done just a few minutes ago and it also said Football Manager has stopped working. So whats the problem here?

Also I have no Sports Interactive Files in my documents and I haven't deleted them or anything they have never been in there, so whats the problem with this?
