After all this time

I've been beaten by Man Utd twice on the semi-finals. Lost on away goals twice in the quarters and then even last season had to bow to a Sergio Aguero hat trick in front of my own 76,000 fans in the last sixteen. But now, I have finally gotten to a Champions League final with my Inter side. I have tried effortless to get there since FM 11 came out but time and time again I've failed. Before I started this season, I sat down, looked at all my saved matches from last seasons Champions League and looked at where I went wrong, tweaked, mind games galore.

Simple enough, no real scares. Held away to Galatasaray.

Away to Lyon sees my Champions League status hang by a thread in a poor performance after a demoralising defeat in the Coppa Italia to rivals Atalanta.

Lyon held on but I proved too much in the end and my star striker Tiago (Ronaldo in disguise) snatches the victory at the depth to send us through and avoid a sluggish extra time period.

Tottenhams poor form in the league leaked in to their European stage as I beat them comfortably without them having a single shot on target. Gareth Bale out after almost putting Spurs ahead within the first minute with a rasping drive that went millimetres wide.

An unbelievable first half from Spurs. I couldn't contain their pace and Huddlestone passed through me like I wasn't even there sometimes. They're full backs certainly ate their Wheetabix that morning. A rally during the half time saw me get back in it and sneak through to set up a mouth watering clash with Barcelona, who have disappointed since Josep Guardiola took the Spanish national job.

What a game. Both defences were a shambles. My left back saw red late in the second half but I kept attacking and I got my rewards. It was going to be a feisty one in the return leg with both teams having not won the Champions League in several years.

One of those games when it becomes socially acceptable to dance around your room like a mad man. I had a French conversation class in university about twenty minutes after this happened and I told everyone there, twice possibly.

Now Bayern or Atletico Madrid (Top of La Liga) await me, I'll post the final result when it's done. Also, this may be not a big deal for most people but this has been a monkey on my back for a while so I'm over the moon to get to the final finally. Let's hope I go one more step!
