Reduce Wage Demands

Currently playing as pompy with limited funds, having trouble improving my star defenders contract as he has requested. Tried to offer him a number of contracts in a small time frame and his demands are too high for my liking, has anybody had this option in private chat become available, i also hold the view it shouldn't be under the transfer list option. Perhaps a further tab - Contract, with this option, and a few new ones like 'ask to defer bonus due to financial trouble,' 'ask to temporally reduce wage due to financial trouble,' 'offer performance bonus' to name just a few.
