Does the clause just affect Spannish clubs, ie the minimum fee only has to be accepted if it is a Spannish club bidding for him?

how could i find that out?

Click on the players contract tab, or the players transfer tab. Might be something in there.

no theres nothing there stating this just that he has a min fee of £20mil

I really dont know then. The only reason I know of is if you offer the money in installments or via various clauses but you have already said you have offered the full £20m cash.

Just a theory but back up your save and try adding another manager to a spanish club with money (Real Madrid) and offer £20m. If it gets accepted then you know that the clause is for Spanish clubs only. Just for your peace of mind more than anything so you know your game isnt bugged.

what date is there in your game?

Have they agreed a fee with another club?

no fee agreed with any body else and it was during the summer transfer window

did you offer any other clauses? such as a friendly or profit of next sale?, these would affect the min release.

It never has on any of my games. As far as I'm aware, the clause is quite simple. If any team bids that amount in cash up front to be transferred at the next available date, it has to be accepted, regardless of where that team is from. If that hasn't happened, then it's an issue with the game.

Could you try bidding for the player again, if he hasn't moved? On the screen where you place your bid, if you set the transfer value at £20m, it should say at the bottom "This offer must be accepted as it meets the minimum release fee".

Had this problem once, try bidding again and selecting 'non-negotiable' this time, worked for me.

Only thing I can think would be the transfer date. Had you chosen End of season by any chance?

I think it is for spanish clubs only, as i have a few players with release clauses and it has (Foreign Clubs) next to it - Like This

If you bid 20 million and have them immediately transferred in the next window, then it should be accepted. Otherwise, call it a bug...

You`ve set a decision deadline. Set that to "not set" and it will get accepted...

i had this problem once, i found that instead of manually setting the cash offer to £20m, if when you are on the bidding screen, you look at the side panal there should be a bit of info stating his min release clause, try clicking on that figure. i say this coz i found that sometimes the minimum fee is actually £20,000,100 or something like that, so the clause is not triggered as you are a few ££'s short.

this was a previous version that i had that problem tho, so not sure if its the same problem you are getting, but always worth a try.

I tried to sign Sergio Aguero for my Man U side and my initial bid of £20m was rejected but when I bid the amount his minimum fee was it was accepted. So if anyone makes a bid and it matches the minimum release fee but still gets rejected then I would suggest that this is a bug and should be mentioned in the bugs forum.

i would say that sounds very likely, i always click on the bit with the minmum fee bit and dont seem to have a problem, but your right they usualy end up £100-200k over what it states.

I would log it in the bugs forum and see what they say.

But in this years game there is an option to put in a clause for 'foreign clubs' only. Is there not an option for only clubs from the same nation also?

i think it would say on the screen if it was foreign or same nation.

As others have said it could be worth offering £20.5 million sometimes I have offer £10 million and the transfer has gone through as slightly over that amount.

what made me laugh was in a previous version i had a player with 13m release clause AI clubs were making offers in the region of 30m.

do you have a save before you made the bid that was accepted? Try the clicking on the the minimum release fee bit and see if what we think is true, just out of curiosity really.

Really good player, don't hate but I got him for £12.75M, and I don't recall any min release fee clause.

Looking at my transfer history/clauses etc it doesn't mention anything.

FWIW, IRL, unless the contract states otherwise, clauses are only for Spanish teams (there's a few exceptions, Aguero, for example). Of course, the clauses tend to be high enough so the team would VERY gladly accept any offer meeting it XD

ABU to be honest
