Players arent old enough to be tutored?

I have some potential world class youngsters at my team ready to ripen and sitting on the fringe of the first team. Perhaps the most important aspect of a players development is the tutelage they receive from the senior players. However, 18 year old players in my team cannot be tutored "player too young" is says. This surely has to be a bug?? I remember in previous FMs as Milan manager (as i am now) I could have any player of any age (up to about 20 or something) tutored. Surely 2 years tutelage isnt enough???

no it means the player you are trying to get tutoring them is too young to do so, any young player can be tutored, age doesnt matter, but the person doing the teaching must be over 24 i think.

Go through the process by asking the senior player (tutor) to tutor the youngster, this seems to work as opposed to talking to the youtng player about it. Reputation also comes into account however, a player over a certain reputation cannot be tutored.

You have to ask the tutor, not the 'tutee' [can't think of the right word?]. And again what he said, if a player looks a gem, get him tutored young because his reputation may increase and before you know it, he can't be tutored.
