MartinGregory84
On FM to be a real life rival club or sign your most hated rivals player? Just wanted views as in person I am a Bradford fan but I am enjoying a save as Huddersfield Town. Anyone else broke rank?
Carmi88
never been a rival team, applied for the spurs post wehnever unemployed but they never hire me so im still pure as an arsenal fan xD never signed a rival player either, but sold plenty to them in the past
busngabb
I took the Liverpool job a few years back and I must say it never felt right. I left, sacked, after about 7 months as I just couldn't get them to play. I never really wanted to go there but had been left with little choice. I ended up taking Spurs to the title the year after instead and Liverpool were relegated.
Lazaru5
there's nowt wrong with a Sadford boy managing Huddersfield, your new manager did it twice, and captained us! Now if you'd have said you were a Town fan managing Leeds... that's a BIG no-no!
Blue_magic
you will never catch me at man city, Liverpool or forest, I'm a man utd fan and I follow Notts county
Pacman Jones
I once took east Anglian rivals Norwich to 2nd in the prem from league 1, and tried to get ipswich up too but didn't get round to it
ImHungry
Could never and would never touch Man ure or the Bitters (everton) with a 10 foot barge pole.it just seem sacrilegious to do it
Johnjo
As a West Ham fan i could never manage spurs, the fans also don't like it when you sign players from rival clubs so i try not to.
bugabugas
Managed Man Utd while being a Liverpool fan...took them to the prem title but still go sacked because i came 4th in the group stage in the CL and didn't go far in the FA or League cups. Boaxzel
I have managed both Man Utd and Everton, and are a Liverpool fan... Strangly both ended up in blue square preimer... dont know how that happend... even got sacked a few times and had to take over with a new user again... hmm strange... karax268
As an Ajax fan I'll never manage Feyenoord or PSV. In England I follow Man United and In Spain Barca but I have no problems taking over Real, City or Liverpool.
randominator
I'm a Chelsea fan but on FM08+09 I always used to manage QPR and make them into a dominant force. I also got the Spurs job on one of my career saves- it went well although I failed to sign my main target: Sol Campbell =p
Mansleg
I would never ever manage Man U, Everton, Arsenal or Chelsea.
roykela
I have managed Tottenham on an earlier version. I'm an Arsenal fan. But i've never ever managed Man Utd, and i will never ever manage them either
RBKalle
It depends on how much you dislike a rival team... Personally I couldn't bring myself to manage Molde, Brann or Vålerenga, while I'm mostly indifferent toward Lillestrøm and I wouldn't mind a job at other clubs. Elsewhere there are many other clubs I wouldn't really enjoy "working for", e.g. Man City, Inter and Napoli. But in the end it's all about making a name for ourselves, so if a short spell at a rival club can be a huge leap forward I'll just try to do my best (without building up a long-term plan though )
o JaY
As a Luton fan I don't see that much of a problem playing as Watford. On the old CM's, I actually won promotion to the EPL back in the days of Marlon King and Ashley Young and had a good stint with them on either 09/10. But yes, it's still a sin
Calculating Infinity
Not a sin, I just wouldn't enjoy it at all and don't accept jobs from them.
ballinisahabit
Ill play as whoever i fancy, im a Chelsea fan but im playing a West Ham save at the moment, have also managed Spurs. Tend not to sign players from fierce rivals though unless its too good to turn down.
jasonboyacmilan
Never even considered managing Inter, Juve, Roma or any other Serie A team for that matter.

crouchaldinho
I wouldn't be able to consider managing the likes of Stevenage or Boreham Wood (I'm a St Albans City fan). Having said that, I have managed Hitchin Town on a previous version of FM and they are Hertfordshire rivals, but I have a soft spot for them and they aren't really 'fierce rivals' these days (although in the past, I'm told the rivalry was pretty big). The other team I couldn't ever manage is Manchester United. They aren't rivals of the team that I support, obviously, but I just detest them.
Black_Waltz
As a Newcastle supporter I find it tough to manage any other team in the premier league. It just feels... Wrong. In Scotland, however, my local team is Ross County and I have once or twice went over the firth to manage invernesss Caledonian thistle... A big no, no. o JaY
That's just wrong! Hang your head in shame! I know . I could just imagine an 'in-game' me lifting the trophy on the pitch celebration thing at the end of season but instead of my Watford tracksuit or an actual suit, I'd be in a Luton top
memph
i could never manage sunderland, players though is different some who play or have played for them i would sign like bent, gyan, onouha because i liked them before they signed and just can't see them being sunderland through and through. Then again players like richardson, cattermole, henderson and especially on any version ever kevin philips i just couldnt sign....that is a sin!!! matt_CDL
I could never ever go Celtic. Would have to think hard about even going Aberdeen.
Jed_Leeds_ United_ Fan
I could never be any top flight team apart from Leeds United, but since leeds are in the championship I only manage Leeds or a team bellow the championship. For some reason too I've never managed a foreign team, just haven't fancied it..
benjawi.
Took over Sunderland one time. I left my job as Plymouth Argyle to manage in Belgium, didn't really get on with the league so I resigned. Took me absolutely ages to get a job so when Sunderland offered I had to accept, as much as it sickened me being a Newcastle fan. Still, got them promoted from the Championship and left them after 8 months in the job for a much better one so it worked out well. Still, was a huge tarnish on my record even if I did win the Championship with them. Don't think I'd be able to do it again.
Robioto
As an Everton fan, when I was younger I never really fully understood the rivalry on Merseyside so I used to be Liverpool and not worry about it too much. But as I got older and particulry from 2004 (when Everton were competing with Liverpool in the league) I started to hate every tiny thing about them, especially the deluded, blind sighted fans who feel they have some divine right to be at the top. I live with Liverpool fans these day and I hate Liverpool, nearly as much as I love Everton. I would never be them now and I do everything in my power on the game to make sure they fail, which is very hard to do when you are not thier manager! *Que the defensive deluded Liverpool fans* *cough* Andy Carroll for £35m *cough* West Ham 3-1 Liverpool, Liverpool 1-1 Wigan *cough* Sorry couldn't resist.... On a side note I don't really mind being Man Utd.
italianboy8
I'll never, ever coach Juventus or Milan. Ever. Tried to coach Roma while waiting for 11.3 but only played for 2 days,it just felt wrong. (I am an Inter fan).
stuyatesefc
My rule is that its ok if you get offered the job. Starting a save with a rival is a big no-no though.
