tlm_77 Posted February 21, 2011 Share Posted February 21, 2011 So much speculation about the patch and when it comes out, I've not given much thought to any sort of strategy when it arrives. I have just the other night started a new save where I started on holiday and left it to run while I went to bed. 2017 and there are some astonishing regens in the game. I've just signed a 15 year old French lad called Miguel Aarondel. He's got 17 for finishng, heading, acceleration, pace and stamina and 14 for composure!!! Best striker at that age I've ever seen in the game and already got 5 in 5 for me.... But I've got thinking about 11.3 and how much I want it because I believe it will enhance what for me is already a superb game... Do I keep this save and update but not get the "full" benefits of 11.3? Or do I do the same again, let it run to 2017 or so and see how good the regens are? Or do I just start a brand new game and see how different/better things are from the start?!! What will you do? Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Why? I'm really torn now because this regen is the best I've ever seen... 99/100 striker regens for me may have stats of lke 16 etc for finishing and maybe heading, but then they'll have no pace at all, like 6 or something daft. My issue with regens has always been that you get what immediately looks like a world beater, then you look again and they have at least one key stat which ruins them, like 6 for accelaration and pace of 4 for stamina. I've never seen a striker like it in a game I've played in recent years anyway. Tough, tough choice... Maybe I'll have to do both? Tie Fighter Posted February 21, 2011 Share Posted February 21, 2011 Haven't started a proper game yet. Have spent last 10 weeks or so spending bits and pieces of time "scouting" various leagues. My long shortlist is ready. Was wondering if there will be many changes to PA/CA or if its just transfers per se that are done on the data update? Due to delving in to the detail of the game (no genie scout or FMRTE) was also wondering will it improve computer performance/speed if I opt out of player pictures/regen images? Ironically enough, the wait for the patch has allowed me really appreicate the games detail. I used just load large data base with only English Leagues running but now I'll run a number of Leagues.For example, many (many) years ago, I signed Jonas Lunden as a young striker (from Sweden). Now he's a right back (aged 29 or 30). There were other blasts from the past as well. And a few new Platinis and Dungas etc etc so looking forward to getting started. Hope the patch is out soon. The worst thing that could happen though is your tactics that work well for you might not work so well after the match engine changes. And yes, I know the work around before you cretin forum fan larks jump down my throat. I've forgotten to not highlight anything before switching too many times now and wiped my tactics. shrewsbury Posted February 21, 2011 Share Posted February 21, 2011 i will start a new game with Shrewsbury and i will stick with the current squad till january and see what needs improving then unless i get alot of injuries and need to use the loan market. i hope to be in the premiership in 5 seasons at the most. i doubt i will be able to get 3 straight promotions again i will not be held to ransom on agent and sign on fees and risk putting the club in debt. Start with either Ajax or FC Twente, probably Ajax if their transfer budget is pretty high due to the sale of Suarez 3. Start with At.Madrid I'm siding with number 2 at the moment although managing Aguero and Reyes would be extremely fun, I imagine the Dutch league would be much more fun though and I like their league rules, especially the fact there isn't a limit on foreigners, 1 however is pretty much an outside contestant Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Although, I've never been a big fan of regens and newgens so the more they continue to take over the game the less inclined I will be to carry on I think. Currently 3rd in Segunda División B. They were 10th when the old coach Menendez still was the coach.) Of course create Alberto Toril and make him manager of Castilla. Create Daniel Carvajal, right back of Castilla. If researchers have been following Castilla or Real Madrids academy, there's no reason for me to say more. Do the job. If those things have been updated, I will play as Real Madrid Castilla. If not, then I'll play as Málaga or Wolverhampton. I'm actually considering playing Arsenal, Feyenoord, Lorient and Salamanca all in one save, at the same time, not sure if it'll work well though. Falahk Posted February 22, 2011 Share Posted February 22, 2011 The patches have been save game compatible for some time now, so you should be able to continue your game with no problems. im sure anyone who had polish leagues loaded recently would disagree, a hotfix was needed to sort that bit can anyone tell me what the current tactic bug is then lol? i think it's related to a glitch in match preparation (well its when i mess around with that stuff i see it happen anyway), it duplicate your tactic and put a tactic called "current" in the drop down menu the workaround is to remove the current tactic from your drop down menu and reselect your saved tactic from the archive Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

It just created a deplicate of your tactic and name is 'current'. Just delete it whenever you see it appear and choose your saved tactic again.
