What is the general concensus around the assistant manager, does he (when asked) always pick the best 11 for games?

What is the general concensus around the assistant manager, does he (when asked) always pick the best 11 for games?

Hmmmmm, it's not that I don't trust him. It's just that I'm the manager and I tend to think I know best. I always check his "best eleven" and take note of that, but I never ask him to pick the side.

Okay thanks, yeah thats why I am asking. I have just started managing Maidenhead United Football Club and was going to get the assistant manager to choose the team at games start to see who he considers the best 11.

It helps a lot if you are new to the team. I ask him to pick the best and then I check if I need to make changes. If your best 11 is match fit then he will pick but he needs to have the right attributes though.

It depends on his stats too. If he has poor JPA then it may be a risk. Before everygame I unselect everyone and get my AM to choose the team for me. Then I look over the team to see if I agree. Mostly I do. Sometimes he picks a player who I think is second best to someone else but mostly he's ok.

When new to a team whos players i don't now i always make him pick his best team and then i look through the stats but for the first 3/4 weeks i let him pretty much manage then i take over and will change what i feel needs changing and by then i have goos knoledge(sp) of the squad.
