dannysheard
Hi there It's January 1st 2011, and I'm trying to sign a free transfer for the summer. He's asking for £3m+ signing on fee and £70k/week+ wages. I can afford this in terms of transfer budget (about £12m left) and wages budget (£150k spare), but when I go to the contract offer screen, the signing fee and wage are in red (i.e. board won't allow them). If I reduce them so they are not red (signing fee of £2.4m and wages of £65k, he's not interested). Is this just because the board don't think he's worth it? That would be silly as it would cost me at least £10m if I was trying to buy him, so £3m signing fee is a bargain.
Nottingham Forest
It's because you have been given restrictions. The board decide what you can offer for players which is generally in categories. Key Player First Team Rotation Back-Up Hot Prospect Youth Player Occasionally the board may change some of these if they feel player X is worth the money. Try moving some of your transfer funds to wage funds(In the boardroom) but don't cancel the offer you have in place as the player won't be interested.
