So I'm currently playing my first season as Arsenal and I make it to Jan 2011 in second place, nipping at Chelsea's heels and hoping to bring in a striker to cover for my overworked strikers.

But I got no offer to change season expectations (it had been "title challenge") and no mid-season transfer budget despite my payroll being over 80,000 below my budget.

Is that supposed to happen?

It depends what you set your expectations to at the start of the season. For example, if you were blackpool you'd probably have "Attempt to avoid relegation". If you were then in a mid-table position come January they'd offer you the chance to change your expectations.

I think you only get it if you're overachieving on the board expectations you chose at the start of the season. So if you chose title challenger or whatever it is you won't get the chance to change it . What did you choose?

OK, that explains it. It was on title challenge.
