Ferthepoet
I found a wonderful regen that seems like the perfect balanced left back 15 crossing, 13 dribbling, 13 marking, 15 tackling, high physical attirbutes, 15 determination and 16 positiong the only catch if he has wbl as his only position, can he be retrained into a left back if he has no positional points for left back? it seems weird that a player would be able to play only wbl but not not left back as is basically the same position only a little back

Fredrikm
Yeah you can retrain him to be a good left back. I did the same thing to a wbr to rb and i went well. He went on to be on of my best players so go for it!
whilewolf2
Only having I position suggests he has a low hidden attribute Versatility which means It will take him longer to learn a new position but it is possible. So sign him but keep a left back to play until he reaches competent at LB which might take half a season or longer.
busngabb
A LWB would play fine at LB. Don't obsess about the colours and whether it says he can play there. I played Phil Jagileka at left back for 30 games one season because of injuries (At 33 too) and he was fine 7.01 rating.
whilewolf2
Versatility also affects how well a player plays out of position. Jagielka can play a number of positions and will have a high versatility. The LWB probably has a low versatility and will take a big hit in performance playing out of position. Kenco
I had a regen who was natural as WBR, MR and AMR, but had no rating as a DR. I managed to retrain him as a DR as he had decent stats to be a good attacking full-back, he is now a natural DR and one of the best around.
