Methos
I did a rather quick search but couldn't find relative info. Perhaps i am bad at searching. I wanted to ask which attributes are important for: a) corner takers b) corner scorers cheers
kingjericho
Corner takers: Corners, Crossing and Technique Corner scorers: Height, Jumping and Heading Players with those attributes should be a good combination, especially in the current patch. I had my CB score 5 goals in 7 matches!!

Methos
I thought I read somewhere in the past about balance, positioning and strength being important as well. are you sure they are out of the equation?
SCIAG
Positioning is a defensive attribute only, so no. Off the ball might be (that's the attacking equivalent of positioning), and finishing/long shots could be if the ball drops low or comes loose. Strength and balance can be useful. For takers, corners is obviously the most useful. Some say that crossing and technique are needed, and I know that that used to be the case, but I think I remember reading that that was being changed so single attributes were more important for set pieces. This is what I dont understand regarding the attributes. A corner is essentially a cross from a dead ball. You would expect a players corner taking and crossing attributes to be roughly if not exactly the same wouldnt you? But take Valencia for example. IIRC Valencia has a corner attribute of 13 but a crossing attribute of 17? So somebody with a good cross is considerably worse at taking corners
ada5tra
I usually just air on the side of caution anyway and get someone with above 15 for both corners and crossing. Have no idea what kind of difference, if any, it has but I always do well from corners in general. May be just fluke.(I also always have the corner takers providing inswingers from their respective sides too. Choice between someone with a point or two higher for corners or someone with opposite foot swinging it in rather than out, I go with the inswinger) But thats just personal preference. Sometimes it results in a comedy corner that goes out for a throw in or something but.... Also Vidic's attributes are a prime example of a good corner receiver(though I suppose it depends how you set up). In a season as Man Utd he was my top scorer up to January. It is significantly easier to cross a ball that is rolling slowly than it is to cross one that is motionless, particularly once you get into the cramped space around the corner flag. You see tons of world class players not getting enough elevation to get corners past the first man. I've seen Figo, Zidane type players do it time and time again. It's a lot harder than 'normal' crossing. I have no problem with players having a big differential between crossing and corner attributes.

Well what you describe is exactly what NANI does every single game. The guy is useless and cant get it past the first man 9 times out of 10. He has a corner attribute of 17 which is a joke. Already raised it in data issues though. Wether or not it will change is another story.
SCIAG
busngabb said all I was going to. Similarly, think of Steven Gerrard- he's an awful free kick taker (he's only scored about two in his entire career despite taking most of Liverpool's free kicks for 10 years), but he's excellent at long shots.
