DiabloTD1
Maybe I havent played enough (2 seasons in with Wrexham), but has anyone seen a free kick given for a back pass in FM11 yet??
La Furia Roja
nope, i dont think its programmed for a keeper to intentionally pick up an intended back pass.
Fancy Gaffot
If I recall correctly I had one in FM 2010
Novox
I have seen a my goalkeeper get a red card for picking up the ball outside the box though in fm10. Bit extreme but thats why it said the ref had a bad game
busngabb
Has anyone seen one in real life? Referees ignore them these days.
Lilywhites11
Has anyone ever seen a keeper get booked for anything? I can't recall him ever even getting a foul, let alone a card. It should happen the odd time when there's a 1v1 opportunity though.
Maidel
Has anyone seen one in real life? Referees ignore them these days. No they dont. GK are just used to the rule now and dont do it.

DiabloTD1
No they dont. GK are just used to the rule now and dont do it. It doesnt happen often, but it sounds like no-one has in fact seen it happen ever in FM11. Even if it is uncommon, it should be programmed in as a very rare event at least. I was saying that reffrees in real life dont ignore them, but that the GK are just used to the rule now - not that they dont happen at all.

The penalties I get (and I get plenty) are always from trips/pushes, never from an interception with an arm, and that happens a lot IRL.
Saint_Lane
One happened when England beat Germany in Munich in the memerable 5-1 victory. Oliver Kahn was the goalie. Im sure they're common. And you'd never get booked for it, its not a bookable offence, unless the player tried a trick to get around the rule, like flicked it up to his and headed back so the keeper can pick it up... REVELZ
Almunia picked up a back pass against United a couple of years ago in Arsenal's 2-1 win at the Emirates, which I, unfortunately, was at.

phnompenhandy
The other day a ref penalised my keeper for picking up the ball and stumbling one step outside his area. I was shocked.
Smurf
I had one in one of my games. It was a blatant back pass but wasn't ruled so. The game continued on.

haz32
Players are allowed to back pass using their heads, chests, knees, just not their feet, and it has to be an intentional pass, so it isn't always clear what is allowed and what isn't, and referees in real life tend to err on the side of caution. SCIAG
I remember seeing a video posted of an indirect free kick from inside the area. It might have been for impeding, but I think a passback is more likely. It wasn't in FM10 though, because indirect free kicks weren't
DiabloTD1
Didnt even think about hand balls in general when I posted this thread, but at least one or two deliberate hand balls a season would be realistic whether it was the keeperoutside the box or an outfield player - surely! cruyff14
I think I remember reading that they can't code it into the game somehow I don't think it's included in Fifa or Pro Evo either for the same reason as the computer can't determine whether it was deliberate or not.
